*ebony*

it all started with this old man. i saw him come when i was bench pressing. didn't notice him until later when i was done with the iron and finishing off with some cardio on the bike. anyways the guy gets on a ball and starts doing crunches, every time he came up he'd laugh, hold for like 2 seconds laughing all the while and then lower his torso. he'd do another crunch, laugh agian and lower. the laugh was quiet loud too as i had on my ipod, not loud but loud enough. i stop and turn to watch him as does everyone in the gym. All of a sudden i hear a huge "BANG". everyone turns towards the sound. it turns out the girl on the treadmill behind me shot off the treadmill plowing into the ellipticals behind the treadmills!!!!! at this time the gym is completely silent! The girl next to her was like "Are you okay???" And the girl responded, "yes sorry to disturb everyone's workout" (she screamed it to everyone in the gym) and all the while the old man who had on earphones was oblivious to the little accident that just happen, still doing his crunches and laughing!! everyone is just standing around like WTF just happend. i know i was.

lol wtf?

what the

I KNOW!! thats what i was thinking, i was just sitting there on my bike seat and thinking WTF! that was just way too strange. i think that girl on the treadmill got distracted by that man's guffaw and thats how she got thrown off by the treadmill.

WTF..at laughing while doing abs????!!!?

quit lying you know you were the girl that fell off.

lol, nope. i rarely use the treadmill or any other cardio equipment in the gym. drives me crazy just staying in one place running, cycling, climbing, ect. i like to go around the track. or better yet go cycling or jogging in the evening on the trail near my place. :)

Thats way better shape then my boys pops's ab workout, everytime he crunches he lets out the loudest fart ever. Now talk about a workout KILLER!

I'm in!

Well when you laugh, it targets your abs. He probably thought he was doubling up by doing both? Still fuckin weird.

yeah, thats what i thought after i was finally able to stop laughing in the girl's locker room. my tummy was aching! there were a few women in there that i guess had witnessed the whole incident and everytime one of ladies giggled, it started a whole round of laughs.lmao!

I've never seen anyone fall of a tread, but I always am hoping for it.

I saw a lady step on one that was probably set at 7.5 mph to change the channel on the tv in front of her. The girl that was using it got off to get a drink and the lady that stepped on it had one foot on her treadmill and stepped right on the belt of the other one. It shot her straight back into the wall and knocked the wind out of her. I saw it from maybe 40 feet away. I knew it was going to happen, but I wouldn't have made it there in time.

Did he have his ipod on?
Maybe he was listening to something funny.
I've done that before

yeah, he had on earphones where the wire came out from under his shirt at the neck, so yeah maybe he had on some stand up or somthing.

what have you done before? just laugh out loud or laugh while doing crunches?

I love to listen to Chris Rock, he is hilarous, you can't help it

Last month I made use of my gym's AED. The manager said he now realizes why he bought the thing. 28-year-old on the treadmill collapsed. Shocked him twice, got a pulse back, started vomiting like crazy. EMS got there and ended up intubating him (placing him on a ventilator) because he was vomiting so badly. Turns out he had a "congenital heart defect" according to the gym manager. I'm wondering if he had HOCM/IHSS. I didn't see a Brugada pattern or prolonged QT on his 12-lead by EMS.

Some guy in the gym asked "are you a doc?" When I told him yea, he said "that's cool. You didn't even wait for the medics to leave before you went back to lifting!" Oh well. Do this for a while and it all becomes mundane.

oh i forgot...just wanted to let y'all know that creepy, laughing, ab-crunching old man was absent today. i saw a few regulars and i think everyone was anticipating, expecting or dreading his return.

I did back today. AND i've upgraded 5 pound heavier dumbbells for my rows!!!!

i wont say the amount of weight though cause you guys will make fun of me..

They outta stuff a couple LMA's in the AED packs for stuff like that.....I mean there's a good chance there might be a paramedic or a doc in the gym.

Does that mean you're up from pink dumbells to blue ones?

Too expensive to do that. I'm surprised the gym owner actually spent $1500 on an AED. Saved this kid's life for sure.
