Bb'ers, do you go light or heavy?

God that sounds so familiar!!! :D

This is exactly what I do, and I have had the same results as SL, in that I have had my greatest gains in the shortest time. I should also state that I am talking about being at a more advanced level and not as a beginner. We all know that a n00b can pack on 20 lbs. in just a few short weeks with pretty much any type of consistent training.



Yeah, but we are only training 3 days (not 7, good god!) a week on a 2 way split, and still hitting each bodypart every 8 days.



It doesn't just sound like a "DC style" training...it is DC Training! :D


do you get over trained with this regimen? in this type training isn't a bit
of over training desirable? do you incorporate rest - pause, negatives and
forced reps strategically? how long are the sessions?

i think i remember you saying that you are a tall guy (6'2 ?) with a difficult
time putting on mass. ecto? ceo, i am 6'4 and 100% ecto lol. every ounce
of muscle has come with blood sweat and tears lol. i love hearing from
guys with similar builds\challenges. btw how much do you weigh?

The blasting and cruising protocols are to prevent overtraining. You're not always going heavy. Some people can go heavy for longer periods (10, 12, 14 weeks), some go shorter (4, 6, 8 weeks). I personally have found that for me, a 6 week blast with one week off completely, and 2 weeks ramping back up with slightly higher volume and lower weight/intensity is where I am happy and perform best.

I do rest-pauses on most exercises (not on deads!). I also use controlled, but not excessively slow negatives (2-4 seconds), and static holds on several exercises. Another thing that helps with recovery and avoiding feeling overtraining is extreme stretching (I've written on this here before).

Typically, with my warmups, exercises, and stretching, I can get out of the gym in 1.5 hours. It can be done in less time too.

I am 6'2" and have always been a skinny bastard. I have hyperthyroidism, which I am controlling medically and have been the last 4 years. That fought against me gaining any weight. Even with that controlled, I still have a very fast metabolism.

I am currently around 225-230. I was 210 in November, when I started DC (actually, I had just gotten over a cold and sinus infection, and had lost weight, but was back up to 206). In my first 10-12 weeks doing DC (and eating like DC advocates), I shot up to 218. Gained a bit more since then. I've been "cruising" only, and not blasting (no lifting heavy to failure and using the rp's, statics, etc.) since my baby boy was born on June 1st. I'm excited to get back to it soon and gain more. Let's see if I can hit 300 in the next couple of years! Hell, I wonder if I'll still think I am too small at 300? Probably.

i'm 6'4, 242 @ 7%. i'm on HRT only, but my HRT is 400 mg test cyp, 100 mg
deca and 20 mg oxandrolone ED. i was on 200 mg deca, but too many sides.

seems i'm able to maintain these stats year round and i can drop too 5% bf at
will. my metabolism is crazy fast.

bro, with your hyperthyroidism, you could be scripted for oxandrolone.
pharm ox is off the chain....... there's nothing like it!

Damn dude! That's more than HRT, that's a cycle! There's no way all that is scripted (maybe 200mg cyp is though)!

You think I can get ox? If so, I think I need a new endo! I can't see my endo scripting me ox. I'm already a medical anamoly to him (for a few reasons). You got any studies linking ox with hyperthyroidism? I'll show him and see where it goes!! LOL!

trust me, lots of good (read liberal) docs out there.

oxandrolone is scripted for weight loss \ inability to maintain weight with
or without a physiological cause! google prescribing info for oxandrolone

i lost my spleen and the left lobe of my liver to a 38 hollow point. i'm prone
to infections and sudden weight loss. btw lots of docs prescribing test in the
300 - 500 wk range. deca is pretty common too. nobody manufacturing
nandrolone in the U.S. right now so you gotta have it made at a compounding
pharmacy. shit ceo my insurance pays 80% for my test , ox and deca!!!
good thing 'cause oxandrolone 60- 10mg tabs cost 1200 bucks lol.

my goal is to look the best in the gym. i haven't been a weight lifter in a long
time. my goals are purely aesthetic, but i appreciate your and others, quest
to go heavy. going heavy is much easier than what i do. super strict form and
high reps with almost no rest between sets can be debilitating.

I wouldn't say much easier ;)

I lift more weights in my workout than an experienced weighlifter, and yet I still use pretty good form.

My goal is to be the strongest person in the gym. Aesthetics mean nothing to me, but if they are there, it's a plus I suppose.
