Im not sure how big it was however the Sheriffs department made everyone get out of the ocean.. After 30 minutes 4 idiots on boogie boards got back in.. I was hoping the shark would permanently remove them from the gene pool, so they could not contaminate the rest of the world with there brillance..lol

True story:; in 2004 a couple was on vacation down here and her husband was way out in the ocean ....well a shark killed him and she filed a lawsuit with the county and state reference no one going to the rescue of her husband.. Ya right lady its a friggen shark.. you jump your ass in there and save him.. dumbass.. the case was dismissed....

lol reminds me of what we were taught about whether or not we are legally required to help someone in a situation like that one.

First of all, nobody is ever required to help someone else out, regardless of your profession etc.

It's all about whether or not your actions leave the person in a worse off situation than they were before I wanted to help. This does not apply o things like breaking someone's ribs when you do cpr (which by the way happens most of the time). Being a good samaritan will almost always clear you.

But say someone was out aways from the beach drowning and a out of a crowd, I said, hey I'll go rescue them. I get half way out, realize I cant make it and come back. The person drowns. Now, I am legally liable if there had been someone who COULD have made the swim, but they didnt act because I volunteered.

But yeah, I agree.....the shark wins. lol

Also reminds me of a time when some lady tried to sue some dude when he had to rip her shirt and bra off to bring her back from cardiac arrest using an AED. Wtf? Seriously, wtf?
