lol reminds me of what we were taught about whether or not we are legally required to help someone in a situation like that one.
First of all, nobody is ever required to help someone else out, regardless of your profession etc.
It's all about whether or not your actions leave the person in a worse off situation than they were before I wanted to help. This does not apply o things like breaking someone's ribs when you do cpr (which by the way happens most of the time). Being a good samaritan will almost always clear you.
But say someone was out aways from the beach drowning and a out of a crowd, I said, hey I'll go rescue them. I get half way out, realize I cant make it and come back. The person drowns. Now, I am legally liable if there had been someone who COULD have made the swim, but they didnt act because I volunteered.
But yeah, I agree.....the shark wins. lol
