what's funny about this thread is today i was watching louis CK's latest standup (live at the beacon) and he starts talking about how we called native americans Indians by accident thinking we were in the indies. and then we just kept calling them that. "no..you're indians. for hundreds of years after"

Indians still get treated like shit. There are only few that get the big money from the gov't, and they don't share with the rest of the tribe. Palm Springs has ridiculously rich injuns, they own every other block and choose not to develop it. Plus, injuns get a pretty healthy amount from the gov't every month, but choose to poison themselves instead of moving forward. There's no excuse for the way our country treated them, but it's what happens every time a country is taken over.

They choose to live their lives the way they do now, so I don't feel too bad for them.
