This is the second time someone managed to just call up Capital One and change my mailing address and phone #. I got an email alert saying they've been changed and I haven't even touched that account in months (0 balance). I checked my account online and it showed these changes were pending. I called them up and canceled that shit pronto. Also set up a password for any future phone call access. Lucky I checked my email when I did. The first time this shit happened someone managed to rack up a few grand more than the damn credit limit and I had to provide proof of address to credit agencies to clear it up.
It's disturbing that general security is weak enough that someone douchebag is able to make changes like that. Also that this info of me is out there and apparently up for grabs.
I'd cancel the account completely but thanks to credit being so important these days it would count against me, seeing as how it's by far my oldest and highest credit card account.
Crimes like this should be punishable by death.
