3500 CALORIES IS ONE POUND

DOES IT MATTER WHAT THAT 3500 CALORIES IS COMPRISED OF WHEN LOOKING AT WEIGHT GAIN?

DOES IT MATTER IF IT'S 3500 CALORIES OF FAT-3500 CALORIES OF PROTEIN OR 3500 CALORIES OF CARBS??

OR IS A POUND OF WEIGHT-SIMPLY 3500 CALORIES OF FOOD???

DIAMOND,

PLEASE EXPOUND-WE ARE NOT TALKING CUTTING CYCLE-JUST WEIGHT GAIN IN GENERAL

IF WE WERE TALKING CUT CYCLE-500 CALS FROM FAT 500 FROM PRO 500 FROM CARBS ARE STILL 500-

CALORIES ARE STILL MEASREMENTS OF HEAT CORRECT-IN CUTTING I THINK IT IS MORE OF WHAT YOUR BODY USES AS FUEL FIRST TO BURN OFF CREATING WEIGHT REDUCTION-FAT,CARBS,PROTEIN-WHAT DO YOU THINK????

If you want to get technical, no.

The "thermic effect" of food differs by macronutrient.

Protein has the highest thermic effect, at about 25%

Carbs are next, at about 10-20%

Fat is lowest, at about 3%

So, for 100 calories ingested, you'd burn:

25 if Protein, leaving 75

15 if Carbs, leaving 85

3 if Fat, leaving 97

there is a difference between eating 2000clean calories or 2000 calories from junk-just for example- meaning you'll put on more fat and have a harder time getting cut if you get your calories from dairy, bread, other junk than you will with a diet of red meat, oatmeal and potatoes

It takes ~3500 excess calories to gain a pound of fat. Muscle, on the other hand, is only 4-8% fat and 20-22% protein. The rest is water, ash and a trace of carbohydrate. This means it only takes around 700 extra protein calories, plus 140-280 calories from fat to gain a pound of muscle.
