Don't take nyquil and drive. I was just nearly killed

I'll take Nyquil if I have problems getting to sleep sometimes if I'm
out of Tylenol PM..

Benadryl is even worse for putting your ass to sleep with little control over it.
I recall having a bad pollen allergy attack once at the beach and took a double
dose of Ben. I went out to the pool area and my wife asked me to swim/hold
our then 3 yr old daughter. I grew concerned for her safety when I couldn't keep
my eyes open no matter what, and called her to come take her.
I think she called me a wuss or some such... LOL

Biteme, glad you're ok. I know that feeling of not being able to stay awake behind the wheel is frightening. They do make some OTC formulas for treating symptoms of illness that are non-drowsy. I know these dont seem as potent as say, NYQUIL, but you have to be able to be awake and alert for daytime activities.

I had a bad bout with Benadryl and the thinking I could just nap in the tanning bed. Thankfully the bed shuts off... I just stayed sleeping for about 45mins

If you want to keep it in the family, DAYQUIL is OK for a non drowsy cold med.
