Discharge from the Marine Corps?

Yup, as a former Marine MP, I would not talk to anyone or say anything. If they put you on restriction, make sure you get paperwork for that because that is all pre-trial stuff that counts towards your punishment. i've seen them try to not do paperwork and do a "Command authorized restriction" and it turned out to be a pretty messy situation. One thing I learned quick in the Marine Corps is not to trust anyone above my own rank. I learned that shit the hard way too. Anyways, keep your mouth shut and talk to JAG. Depending on your command, you also might be able to negotiate a better discharge too. General under Honorable is what you want with this type of shit. I hope you get it bro. Best of luck to you. You might also try to see if you can get PCA orders to another unit and volunteer for a deployment to Iraq of Afghan. It's not necessarily a good option especially if you've already done your time over there, however, a couple of guys that I know got in some serious trouble and they negotiated a General under Honorable conditions after they got back from a deployment to Iraq. Most units, when stuff like this happens, just wants to get rid of the personel one way or another, and if that means going to a different unit and overseas, then some commands will allow it...especially if another unit is hurting for bodies for deployment. If you're section or yourself are in good with your CO, you might have a better chance of getting this stuff. Best of luck bro.

Sucks. I have seen people kicked out for popping a piss test in one command. Then have seen test swept under the rug by another. It really depends all on the C.O. let us know when you get back to the boards.

Doubt it will make it to a discharge unless they can prove he was selling to other marines. No matter what you should always hide your gear!!!!!! Even in my unit before the crackdown when the coc was turning a blind eye to it, everyone was still keeping it well hidden incase it did ever go down. Whats done is done I agree it really depends on your your leader, team leader, platoon leader all the way up to your co. commander or bco depending on how far up its going. I would say you ll end up with an article, loss in pay, maybe grade, and extra duty. based on the fact you turned it in and though its a "drug" its use was performance driven. Talk to your squad leader and team leader see what their thoughts are before you go talk to jag just bc alot of the time things work out best if they feel the respect and it was in house. if its going above the 1st sgt or co. commander i would most def talk to JAG. Dont talk about the situation out side of your direct coc, the more you talk the worse it is. When your explaining it make sure you load them with the why behind your use and dont make it skin deep, basicly you felt it would help your deployments and keep you and your buddies alive. Being able to performe at your peak keeps you alive kinda thing.
