Ive entered "The Battle Of The Biceps" competition

Hey everyone! There is free food offered at my gym tommorrow and a curling competition ("The Battle Of The Biceps"). Id be there for the food alone haha, but figured I might as well enter the competition since biceps is one of my best body parts. Im also pretty light for having 18" arms, so it may be an advantage. They are giving away some type of prize for the winnner, maybe some free supplements. Nothing to lose since Ill be there anyway. Does anyone know the rules of the competition and how its done? How strict it is etc. Cuz Im sure I could swing out reps with 95lbs for a LONG time haha. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!




Also, if they have video tapes available Ill get one and post up some footage for the fuck of it!! haha

I think I read about it before. Something like curling 50% of bodyweight for the most reps. So I may have an advantage there. Ill be sure to post the results!!

Ill be around 190 when I get there later today. Ive seen some footage of the type of form they allow, and it almost looks like anything goes. Though I also heard the "pendulum" form was outruled recently. Then again, Im not sure if this is an official "Battle of the biceps" competition or what. Hopefully I can watch some other competitors to see whats allowed. Im sure if I swing the shit out of the weight I can get some reps. Im guessing Id have to curl 95lbs which is really light. I know in the bigger competitions there are people hitting 70+ reps, but alot of them train just for that comp. Ill be sure to post the outcome. If anything its free food and maybe even some supplements. ThanX again!!

In worse case Ill hit a PR with 95lbs, since I never hit that weight for reps. haha I may even do a bicep workout afterwards if Im not too full on the free food. Awesome Incline workout by the way!! Looks like youve exceeded me for sure!! You are probabally doing them on a stricter incline too. I think by arching on the incline, I made it similiar to a flat bench, so maybe thats why they are so close to eachother. I know that, on this new bench Im using now, its alot harder. Im sure I can find ways to position myself to make it easier, but I think Ill try it the stricter way for a while and see if I get any extra chest development. Keep KILLING that shit!!

shit, my gym never has free food

The food was very good by my standards. Pizza Hut pizza, chicken wings, peanut butter sandwhich and some protein shake in my stomache for free. Plus a few packets of protein to take home. Worth the drive just for that alone. The competition was a fucking joke, but I won. Ill detail it more in my next response. ThanX again!
 
I did win the competition, if it could even be called that. I really expected it to be a big event! haha But it was just me against some older guy that weighed 170. It wasnt even balanced. They let him curl 60lbs for the most STRICT reps in one minute, and I got 90lbs. I only outweight the guy by 20lbs, so I dont know where they pulled thier numbers. I got 90lbs for 19 extremely strict reps. Which is still a PR even though Ive done 135 for 17 reps, but using momentum. The other guy did his 60lbs for 19 reps also. Whoop dee fuckin doody. Some competition. Then, since it was a "tie" we had to do a tie breaker with negatives. He got 80lbs for the negatives and I got 100lbs. I did 13 in one minute, but I could have got more if I sped up the pace. He only got 11 or so with the 80. The comp was a joke. But it was still cool to get the free food, and I won an hour in a limo, (Ill never use) and a T-shirt from some supp company. Afterwards I just decided to train biceps haha, and did 20 or so sets of that followed by some abs and a little cardio.

Awesome shit anyways, dont take it lightly, you probbaly scared people out of competing!!!!!!! Good job killin that shit!!!!!

haha ThanX for the encouragement brother!! Sure, Ill get some pics with the shirt, its a large so itll give you an idea of my small stature. It was real tight when I worked out in it today, veins visible thru the sleeves. While Im at it Ill take a few updated posing pics for the fuck of it. Ill try to get them up soon.
Ill be at the gym anytime they do that again. ThanX again for the encouragement!! Keep KILLING that shit!!

just returning the favor, I always read thsese threads before I go to work out at 9pm after a 12 hour day, and it always works.....

And what a cool idea for a contest, no? I'm not super-strong on curls, but I wish a local gym would do something like that. I'd enter for the food alone *laughs*
