right now I use gatorade and cream of rice for my ppw #1 and #2....cream of rice SUCKS! I think I may try rice cakes, since the ingredients are pretty decent...cant get myself to do cupcakes and donuts!! lol what do u use?

I use 50g's of Optimum's 100% whey protein, I mix that with 25g to 50 g's of oatmeal ( shake it all together and chug, taste's very good actually ), and I eat a piece of fruit for the High GI carbs. Usually an apple or bananna.

1 hour later, I'm back on the regular routine, chicken and low Gi carbs.
 
PW shake for me is ON Whey protein + 75g Maltodextrin or Dextrose + Glutamine + B Complex and C Vitamins

An hour later, I'll have a full meal of either chicken/turkey/lean meat, and some veggies (complex carbs such as sweet potatoe/brown rice when I'm bulking)
 
Pretty much the same as njm uscleguy, I need that glucose dextrose after training about 75g. Otherwise i just feel so tired and generally moody. mix in 50g of whey protein all with water.

then about 60-90 minutes later i have a mixed, Meat, veg and startch. Chicken casserole for example. Works for me. Loving the training and the gains are coming.
 
50 mg whey mixed with Dextrose along with a 1 cup of oats (per Mak's reccomendation, works well)

Dextrose is so cheap I can't believe the days when I bought those expensive carb/post workout supps
 
3 Scoops of N large, 1 scoop whey protein and 2 packets of low carb cocoa. Blend that shit up with water and ice. YUMMY!
 
ABB Extreme XXL 24 oz drink. 1090 calories, 50g's protien, 250 carbs, BCAA, all that shit! I love them, I have cases of this stuff.

Not that I'm questioning Mak (he looks amazing)...but is it a good idea to have a complex carb post-workout? Your body is depleted/starved after training so you need a quick boost from a high GI carb immediately after + some protein

I agree...many do not....I use gatorade, then another simple carb like cream of rice 30 minutes later...rice cakes, white rice....

can't get much simpler than maltodextrin or dextrose powders

possibly.....also, the gaotorade helps to restore electrolights which aids in recovery.....good product...

That's what I thought & some will say stick to that, but I think his reasoning was that it helps dimenish the crash that comes after you consume all those high GI carbs (dextrose) if your not experiencing this then keep doing what your doing
 
I usually have 3 scoops of NLarge2 with one teaspoon of Creatine, and one of Glutamine...
 
Lately I switched to bars - I got some outdated MetRex Storm Bars for $5 a box (I got a shit load of them - enough to feed a tribe of Ethopians for a year) 30g carbs 27g of protein - dirt freaking cheap too. They may be a year past due but they taste great and are an easy way to eat something on the drive home from the gym.

When these run out in 2007 I'll go back to On Whey (50g) mixed in with a bananna, creatine and glutamine.
 
Similar to many above:

2 scoops ON Whey (sometimes ProComplex)
75g Maltodextrin
10g Glutamine powder
1tsp Creatine powder
Water

1hr later: meat/fish + complex carbs meal
