not that I disagree with the premise of your post.........but by those standards there's no point in voting for anyone. Even though Paul would have a difficult time getting some of those things done that he says'.........at least having a president like him would get the ball rolling. Than maybe candidates around the country who think like him could gain traction in local or state elections............that's how things start. I would find it difficult to vote for someone who's going to keep the status quo.........no point in even voting imo.

And for your unsophisticated lack of knowledge, there are two types of libertarians - Large L and small l. Ron Paul appeals to small l libertarians and small r republicans because he is willing to stand up for principle against his own party. The majority of Republicans don't like Ron Paul because he doesn't buy into their ideological bullying. A true lover of liberty does not need a party and we certainly wouldn't join with the socialist smack propagated by the haranguing leadership of the party that has a jack ass for a mascot.

If he gets past the primary Ron Paul is the ONLY canidate the republicans even have a shot at winning with. He's pro-life, anti-war, and sympathizes with small interest groups. That steals a lot of votes from the demo side of the spectrum.

I agree. He has no chance at winning the primaries because he's TOO republican. He is a republican in the way that pre-Nixon republicans were republican. That's why the GOP will never let him get past the primaries. The party of small government is only the party of small government in name only.
