I was at the gym this morning and this young woman, perhaps 20-22 years of age, came in carrying a newborn. She walks up to this man that is about her same age and starts laying into him about something while he is in the middle of a set on the shoulder press machine. She gets pretty hot and mad, but he really reassures her and is calming her down. Then, she flashes dirty looks at all the women on the cardio equipment, including me. She goes and sits across the room at the juice bar and kept waving the baby's arms and yelling, "there's daddy! Say hi to daddy!" really loudly. It was like this surrealistic cheering section.

Needless to say, he didn't stay too much longer. I felt so sorry for this guy.

maybe he was supposed to meet the girl and his baby somewhere at a specific time and he let his workout go on too long and she got impatient waiting with the newborn and all so she came to the gym where the guy was leiruely working out knowing full well that she and the newborn were waiting for him to come back and get them. and the newborn needed a diaper change and a bottle, and needed to get home to do this. that guy is very inconsiderate and selfish if you ask me. i dont know why she stays with him anyway

I have a different take!

My theory is the lady recently had a baby and went through post-partum depression. She's put the guy on the no-sex plan for a month or more and using her logic decides "he must be cheating on me since he's not getting sex from me" (never mind the fact that she's the one putting him on the no-ass plan!). So then she follows him through his day, waving the baby around toward him thinking his imaginary new-found girlfriend will fall to pieces.
