You ever try to quit drinking coffee?

Damn that sucks.I was drinking like 6 cups every morning and i decided to try and stop drinking it all together as my anxiety has been horrible in the morning.Its 10am now ive been up since 6 but i feel like im still in fuckin bed oh well ive quit way worse habits this one is no exception.

have plenty of advill ready. When that headache hits, it will be MAJOR!!!!
 
Ya i was up to about that, somdays id feel like supperman on the coffe and then some days axiaty. What i hated most was trying to drink enough water to keep hydrated n pissing every 2 mins.... Now i picked up a new habit not sure its any better tho, its called no xplode
 
Drinking that much coffee every day you've developed a caffeine addiction, you're going to have a 24 hour plus headache (among other things, caffeine withdrawal can make you feel generally physically uncomfortable and run down).

You'd do much better to cut back by one or two cup(s) per day every three days or so.
 
Yes. It went very well for a while. Didn't really get the headaches, but found I had a lot more energy. Wasn't able to keep it up though. It's my one addiction
 
I quit for about 2 months a few years ago. You could just limit your intake. Up to a certain amount you can get the benefits of caffeine but essentially none of the side effects. I limit myself to no more than 12oz in the morning. I even pour it from the pot into a big glass measuring cup to check the amount so I'm not tempted to gradually start drinking more again as time goes on.

I was the same way, energy wise. I'll have a cup of coffee every once in a while but I don't find that it makes me feel more energetic, just jittery and scattered. If I'm dragging I think a dose of B12 helps more than caffeine ever did.

Hot chocolate with cayenne pepper, now that'll wake you up.
 
I developed a dislike for coffee when I was pregnant, so it was ok.... I used to drink 4 cups a day.... now I am down to 1/2 cup a day.... I find as long as I have a few sips I am ok.

Oh damn. Not me. But I did cut back a lot. I had a big cup of coffee this morning, and I really want a diet coke right now. I think Im far enough along to not worry about my caffine intake right? I mean.....right??? lol

idk bout that .. my girl is prego and they told her 1 cup a day and no more..anything more is not good
 
Caffeine intake is REALLY important to avoid in the first trimester. The rule is 1 cup of coffee/day, 3 cups soda/day MAX.... although neither is ideal and don't do both, LOL. (cups = 8oz)

oh Im waaaay past my first trimester, shit. Im almost term. This baby is out to come out. thats why I was wonderin if I could have that diet coke today. lol!
 
YES, you can hon. Unless you're an alcoholic or a drug addict.... not much is gonna affect that baby after 35 weeks.

But you know the number of ounces of coffee consumed is no indicator at all of how much caffeine you're consuming. It can vary hugely based on the type of bean, the grind, brew speed, brewing method, and the amount of water per ounce of ground coffee used to brew.

Your brewed coffee drink could have as little as 10mg of caffeine per ounce or as much as 22mg of caffiene per ounce. And that's regular brewed coffee, not french press or espresso which both pressurize the grounds in some way to force more caffeine out of the coffee.

Have about 2 - 3 cups of green tea. It also has caffeine, but not as much as coffee.

If it gets really bad have 1/2 cup of coffee with caffeine and 1/2 decaffeinated for about 2 days, then the 3rd day decaff, then switch to green tea.

Well i went all day today and do have a headache but nothing that i havent had before but thand thanks for the advice I do like tea.

I do suggest you stay with Green tea. Coffee withdrawal is terrible and you'll have many symptoms besides a headache that will only last for a day or two. Besides, green tea is an antioxidant besides other great benefits.
 
I've kicked caffiene cold turkey a couple of times. The last time it was a Low Carb Monster addiction. You can expect 2-3days of headache and no energy. Aspirin, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen can help but avoid Excedrin as it contains caffeine.
 
I flipped from Monster to Black Coffee to Red Eye coffee, started turning my teeth and taste buds to shit. Now I swoop up a 20oz diet nestea green tea every monrnin and been ridin the wave ever since, good constant energy, no crash, tastes amazing
 
yeah, it was the worst 4 hours of my life! :D

I did quit for a week once, eventually felt better, slept better, now just usually quit caffeine at about 2pm, except not exactly today since I have a diet coke on my desk, lol. mmmm caffeine.
 
I've not read a single post in this thread yet.

I have NO interest in quitting coffee. I'm hooked for life. Used to drink it in the backwoods of East Texas with my grandmother at age 5.

LOVE IT. That and food is my only vice left and I often choose coffee in lieu of proper nourishment. Working on that part.

And this is one of the many reasons u suspect ur low n b-12?? Should read the thread anyway pretty good :)
