Yngwie is fucking awesome with an axe. I've been listining to him for about 13 years. The guy plays heavy metal using classical riffs. Scalloped frets or not, I've never heard anyone play faster.


And....oh yeah He is an asshole. Met him about 4 years ago.

He is definatly an asshole.

Does not take away from his talent though.

Does the name Al Di Meola ring the bell? Ask any top guitarist who's the fastest and they all will say Al Di Meola! Steve Lukather has said it, and so has Steve Vai and those guys are also one of the fastest guitar players in the world.

What I find interesting is the amount of time and energy people devote to bitching about who is faster than who.

What is more important is who has the most talent.

Yngwie (or however that communist fuck spells his name) is fast, no doubt about it. But does he have more over-all talent than say Stevie Ray or Steve Vai? Hell no.

Does he have the ability to improv like Eddie or Al Di Miola? Hell no.

Any moron can pick up a guitar and devote years to being fast. But actually developing talent takes an initial hint of genius.

Don't want to argue about who is the fastest or best. I don't even play guitar, but I do play piano and drums. (see my location lol)

There is no doubt that Ingwie has tremendous talent. You can hate him or not like his music, but to deny he has talent is just silly.

Ingwies gutar solos are not only fast, they are based on years of classical music study.

I'm sure there are guys out there better, but the guy is fucking great, no matter how you slice it.
