Yes, Another Cologne Question.

I realize there's a few threads out there, but I didn't want to highjack anyones.

I need something new. What I wear right now is light, along the lines of :
1) CK Be
2) Clinique Happy
3) Polo Sport
3) Calvin Klien Escape

But man do I ever need some new scents....some of these I've had for a looong time, and I'm sure they are gone 2 minutes after I have them on.

I'd like anyone to throw out some ideas for me. Karma will flow! :)

ACQUA DI GIO by Giorgio Armani is a must - I say that from the amounts of compliments I get from woman

My cousin uses WINGS, don't know who makes it but its alright

Guess for men is decent everyday light scent .......

these are just my opinion ........

id like to try the new one AMGETR said

new Georgio Armani Acqua

how much for a small bottle?

Eau d'Orange Verte, by Hermes ($60), for the fresh scent - there is nothing like it! But your colognes are all too similar. You need something with more personality. Creed Milesime is my favorite, even though very expensive ($230). Look into Anick Goutal, by Anick Goutal ($80) and Odeur 53, by Comme des Garcons. ($80) Department stores all over the country have them.

Also, try Alexander McQueen for men ($70). And, pleaaase, lay off the Polo Sport.

acqua di gio by armani is the best cologne ive ever tried. ive been wearing it for years. the ladies love it.

Pi by Givinchy is good too.

Jean Paul Gauthier is pretty good.

I also like Chrome by Azzaro

dude, theres tones of good stuff out there. you just gotta go to the shopping mall and check them out. but i would have to say that Acqua Di Gio by Armani is a must.

I like Gucci Envy, tis the only one I've been using for a long time. Might wanna check out some Green Irish Tweed, I've heard great things.

About Aqua di Gio: I know lots of people recommend it, but is it still OK to wear nowadays, especially since EVERY guy out there has a bottle? I mean, what good is a great smelling cologne if every guy in the club is wearing one? Don't wanna hi-jack the thread, but can anyone answer that question?

FCUK , Issey Miyaki, Clinique happy, Davinduff Cool water.

But only very lightly though. Subtlety is very important when it comes to seduction and scent.

I agree on the ACQUA DI GIO. Yeah, a lot of people it, but it rocks.
My gf also likes me wearing FCUK and Cool Water.

Anyone want to trade some half used bottles?? I have Escape, Contradiction, Isye Miyake (sp?), Hugo elements (I love this one, but the gf hates it for some reason, not sure if its even sold any more), Swiss Army, etc.

Bro, it all really depends on what you are wearing and what your style is.

I wear black, jeans, italian shoes and shirt, leather jacket, gold jewelry, stud and spike braclets, armbands and belt, something like GQ Biker style.

I wear Dolce and Gabanna and Egotiste Platinum.

If you wear jeans, Burberry Brit is good.
For gym wear, Acqua Di Gio, Hugo Boss, Cool Water.

Honkey Tonk Man,

Of course. What does smelling like sweet have to do with hardcore weightlifting? Are you saying you should not shower before you go to the gym or that it is better to stink like shit when you are in a gym? Soap and shampoo has a smell for those that use them.

I never use alot so I could see your point if you stank the place up.
Colognes are used to emit your natural smell which is a mix between your natural scent and your scent which reflects your style.
I use only 1 spray, just enough so that it is barely noticable.

But again, I agree with you if you mean in a gym you should not stink up the place like you are going to the club, but you should smell good 24/7.

Dirk Howat Man,

You have some great points, there. For sure. True playa for life 24/7 yo.

Thanks Bro.

Here is my take (best to worst)

1# Smell good and be clean
2# Be clean
3# Reek of Good cologne
4# Reek of Bad Cologne
5# Smell like a combo of Good Cologne and Shit
6# Smell like a combo of Bad Cologne and Shit
7# Smell like Shit

Got mine at Sears; large department store in Canada. If I can get it there, that means it's pretty much available anywhere :supercool

Cost me around $60.00 CAN

Sears sells colognes?Didn't know that.Thx for the info.

Okay,so based on the general consensus, these are the ones you guys(and the ladies)like best:

1.Acqua Di Gio
2.CK Crave
3.Davidoff Coolwater
4.FCUK
5.Gucci Envy
6.Lacoste

You guys use the aftershave creams too,or just the liquids?

If I were you, I'd get the CREED Imperial Millesime first. Even George Spelwin recommends it.

Alright,I located a few of these, but where are you guys getting CK Crave and FCUK?

CK Craze, like most Calvin Klien products is crap. FCUK stands for French Connection United Kingdom. Its some pretty good stuff.

That would be an opinion, not fact, just for clarification ;) and it's Crave, not Craze. Can grab it pretty much the same places as Aqua di Gio.

But, speaking of the Aqua di Gio.....I was asked by a stellar looking blonde tonight:
"By the way, what ARE you wearing???"
"Aqua di Gio...."
As she says with a knockout smile "Armani, nice" :supercool

True, that is my opinion. I never really liked any products from CK.

Arnt you happy you got the Gio? :artist:

I dunno, still skeptical about the ADG. If every F'ing guy out there has it!!!!!

But, I guess I'll get one of those .17 oz thingies and check it the F out.

To clear up on how to use cologne.
You want it barely noticable, even throughout the day.
First, you need a high quality designer cologne.
Spray areas where you sweet so that it mixes with your natural scent.
The best place to spray is your neck primarily because it is exposed, whereas your wrists, etc......may not be.

USE ONE SPRAY.
This should last 3 hours or more.
If you have the opportunity during the day, add another spray to the other side of your next.

Maximum sprays, 3 to 4 per day.

If you are on a date, depending on the scent, and it is a sexual environment, use 2 sprays as along as you do not reek of it. You want her to smell it and be TURNED ON by it, not TURNED OFF by it.
