silver_shadow said:or how abt botched moves- the risks are real. these guys are great stuntmen. there is always the element of risk while performing the kind of stunts that these guys do. as they keep saying on smackdown and raw-"yes this is entertainment but the hazards are real. please don't try this at home".
Yes, another risk is definately botched moves. It happened to Steve Austin in 1997 when Owen Hart messed up on a piledriver and nearly crippled him. Austin sat out for a month but then (against his doctor's sugestion) decided to comeback because he was about to get his biggest push ever (Austin vs McMahon fued-which made him millions) and figured what the hell. Austin wrestler injured for almost two years after that match and finally had surgery in late 99. Him wrestling those two years injured is basically the main reason he is not a full time wrestler now. He takes bumps every now and then and may one day wrestle again, but never at the rate he did in the 90's. Probably the worst botch to happen in the US was in 99 when Droz faced D.Lo Brown. D.Lo messed a move and now Droz (former NFL player) is in a wheelchair (Christopher Reeve style-but in better condition) for probably the rest of his life and has only recently started to get some feeling in his arms. The WWE has given him a job writing for WWE.com, which I think was a good move..I am sure he will have that job for the rest of his life. Bret Hart's career ended in 99 when Goldberg full force kicked him in the head (by accident). So yeah, accidents do happen and what is done in the ring is dangerous and is not something anyone can just get up there and do.
