The Wildcard event was mostly a marketing ploy to give make it interesting & give a spot to whoever won that to compete in the Mr. O. Even there you can see the dividing line between what makes a Mr. O quality competitor and one step down. It was an opportunity for some interesting "overcoming" stories tho.

Actually Dave Henry won the wild card spot and he placed higher than Markus Ruhl and Chris Dim.
