WTF is going on with my Heart??

true, while i will admit that your post has a nice ring to it...

having an angiogram done will give some idea of where you would expect to see an abnormal wave, whether it be an inverted P wave, or something more difficult to visualize where one would need all the V leads to see.

angiograms are done to check for circulation...not to see where an inverted p wave may be or any other electrical event. get your facts straight before you correct me. the EKG is used to check the electrial activity of the heart. i do this stuff for a living so i know the indications for testing. can you read an EKG? if you knew how silly your above statement was you would delete it... :chomp:

DIV, you need a refill on your olanzapine? you seem a little strange tonight! ;)

umm......basically, you're calling the JuicedMoHawker an indolent ape, yet you ask if I'M ALRIGHT?

Since you asked though, I'd like a refill on my thorazine, please. :xeye:

F'ank F'ou......:insane:

You are absolutely correct on this. The EKG looks at how the heart conducts electricity. You have the P wave, QRS complex, and then the T wave. Reading those bitches can be tough, I took a class in grad school on it and its tricky.

hey goldenmonkey, angiograms do not measure heart waves. an interventional radiologist inject a catheter into a vein and uses dye and xray to check the vessels of the heart or other vessels of the body that need to be visualized. but he does need to see a cardiologist for an EKG/halter monitor, stress test, and echo. :) :chomp:

lol @ goldenmonkey! lmao!!
you are right bro. Don't take goldenmoneky advice. he doesn't have any clue. His monkey theory is wrong.

I hope it's fuckin' tricky......considering your dealing with people's lives here...

One wrong read could be disastrous......

I know what an EKG is. I was simply stating the correlation between what you can see on an EKG and an angiogram, provided you had already done one of the two. I can't tell every arrhythmia from a 12 lead or anything, but I'm fairly confident reading the ones i come into contact with in what I work.

if you read my whole post you would see that i said "true" as the first word. i was offering an explanation for what goldenmonkey said.

i didnt jump down your throat, so back off.

Actually his "monkey theory" is right......it's just that he underestimated how many different species of monkey there are on the forum.

You've got a wide range from your typical apes, baboons, spidermonkeys, orangatangs and your chimps and marmosets....

GoldenApples is a goldenspidermonkey.......he tends to swing from tree to tree (post to post) throwing his own feces wherever he lands.....

Then he calls all of us "monkeys".

my bad hoss... :) all i have to go on are the typed words! cant always tell a persons intentions. i am an ER doc so i HAVE to be able to read an EKG. :) we have certains steps and protocols we follow for most disease processes. when a pt comes in with heart related issues, the get the basic workup and treatment, and usually a cards consult is called. the original poster would not be getting an angiogram or PCI b/c his presentation does not sound like ischemia. but he would get the full cardiac workup including EKG, CE x 3, CXR, etc...he would most likely get an echo and halter monitor done as an outpatient. i dont even think he would need a stress test as he has no anginal symptoms. but anyway, this stuff makes for good discussion, but he should not be wasting his time asking this crap on here...call the doctor! :)

oh, and i wasnt calling you an indolent ape! only DIV can come up with silliness like that!
hey DIV, neuroleptics and AAS are contraindicated! :) maybe that is what is wrong with the nugga! :D

I agree with not going entirely by what people say on here. I should have been more specific as to what I meant. No offense here, provided I didn't offend you. You are right to assume I do not know the indications for every diagnostic test you just mentioned. Check your karma BTW. :)
