well im in the gym rippin shit up, im hoppin from machine to machine i also notice EVERYONE is busy cleaning the machines. Im afraid to kicked out lol..

should i conform and clean or say fuck it when the staff approaches me then conform?

Its really breaking my concentration thining about my next set or getting the spray bottle and paper towel and act like a merry maid

perhaps you should join a gym that is not for women only

They want you to spray the machines? This must be new. Last time I've seen a commercial gym is 1985.

Anyway, I hated when they followed you and told you to put the plates back. Ummm, I'm not done yet!!!! Can you wait until I finish all my sets?! wtf?

Do they realize you do 4 sets of 10, not 1 set of 40? I do one set and get up, walk away like 6 feet..."Excuse me, please strip the weights." Fuck you, strip this!!

i hate those damn spray bottles, they dont do anything to stop germs. and wtf is the point of spraying a machine down if its just going to get dirty again later?

there is no such thing is clean gym equipment. wash your hands when you are done lifting for the day. Problem solved!!!

I hate nothing more then going to a machine and it is frigen wet because someone was spraying it down and barley even used to the towel to whipe it down.

I'd honestly would rather it be sweat, you can wash that off. You can't wash the smell of industrial cleaner off.

Crack open the stink bombs in the bottles of cleaner, they'll never use those again.

Of course you'll need to use another gym for the next week till they get the smell out.

im trying to get my original handle georgie24 back since its deactivated . had some personal probelms back then alot of drama. i wish not to speak of it since it brings back alot of memories

There is an skin infection being passed around commercial and public gyms. It is a form of staph. Google MRSA. It's Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It was on the news recently. The news story told people to clean the equip before and after using.

The gym I use has a sign posted that say "Spray cleaner on the paper towel, NOT the machine." I guess having dripping wet machines would be annoying.

I just go to the squat rack and leave the machines alone myself, but I do spray some cleaner on a paper towel and wipe the old sweat off the bench.

put a few n-acetyl-cysteine (sp?) caps in there - like rotten eggs x 1000

I personally don't wanna lay in someone elses sweat. Bacteria leaching from their still open pimples laying in wait for the unwary.
Have you people never heard of SARS? Rhinitus? Influenza? The best way to combat is washing your hands frequently, but I don't trust anybody, so I wash my machine before & after I use it. I had the Norfolk virus one year & it almost killed me.
You can't just wait 'til the end of the workout either. If some sick prick was on the machine before you. You go on, sweat your ass off, wipe your face, catch the flue, & go & give it to your baby girl at home, who dies from complications of the infection she gets from the diarrhea she got from the flue you gave her. Sorry about your luck.

I don't think I could handle even putting them in the bottle.

Anywho, why not bring a towel from home and lay it onto the equipment you are using? I don't trust the cleaner, I don't know what is in it, nor do I like the smell of it. They say it is smell-free but I have a very VERY big sense of smell. I can smell the cleaner on those machines they use on the Wal-Mart floors and have to run for the bathroom because it gives me diarreha (I can't spell.)

But the plus to it is I can smell lotion on my wife after she has had it on for hours and hours when the scent should be gone. perfume and lotion.

my theory is, if the sweat has dried up, then there is no reason to wipe it down.
why cant someone just wash their hands after they workout?

Just 'cause the sweat has dried doesn't mean the bacteria or virus has died. To each his own, I guess, but i don't feel like pissing out my ass & missing 4 days of work, sex, & workouts, just to be macho. I buy Lysol or some other type of wipes, don't trust the gym towels or solutions.

i guess what im trying to say is. the wet sweat is just gross. like if you can feel it, its nasty.

of course the equipment wont be clean. So thats why I just wash my hands after i work out. I mean I'm not going to get any diseases doing it that way, am I?

You can. If the guy ahead of you is getting a cold, & his virus gets on the equipment, then it can spread to you. Especially if you're sweating, you wipe the sweat, or touch the bench & wipe your face.
Or, if you're getting sick, & you don't wipe, you could be leaving a gift for the guay behind you.

could i just not touch my face, but just shower and wash myself real good afterwards?

and couldnt everyone do that to avoid diseases?

well, if you have the presence of mind to never touch your face, even while distracted, you'd probably be OK from contact illnesses. I know I'd never be that focused on anything other than the workout, or my music. (Or the wimmins across from me doing SLDL in biking shorts.) :p
