Especially in my left wrist. Iv been doing alot of forearm work lately and alot of wrist curls, also alot of dips and heavy benching and all together my wrists are beaten. Doing wrist curls hurts loads on my left wrist. If you look at your wrist you can see you have two bones that make it up, its on the one that is on the side of your little finger if that makes sense. Moving the wrist through a full ROM even with no weight is uncomfortable sometimes and as its not a muscle I cant really rub it or anything.

Im taking a week off now anyway but they have been like this for a while? Any suggestions? I just did some forearm work but with a bandage type thing wrapped tightly around that wrist and it really helped but the pain was still there...
 
idk bro that doesn't sound too good at all lol. if it is really bad after the next 2 days or so you should definately see a doctor. in the mean time, drink a lot of water and eat tons of fruits/vegetables to get the necessary vitamins. i know that some vitamins can help reduce pain and stuff so that is the only advice i can give. this sounds pretty bad i think it is a bit more than soreness if you can see the two bones. go to a doctor, and good luck
 
Get some wrists wraps. This saves my wrists. If I am lifting heavy, and don't use wrist wraps, it grinds my wrists like crazy especially while pressing. Not only that, it has helped me control a heavier pressing weight better.

Really? Already at just 14 my wrists have become so weak I cant do seated db wrist curls with a 20lb'er without having to have extra wrist support... that aint good
 
I have tiny wrists, I get it from my dad. My wrists are so small in comparison with my forearms and upper arms that if I shake hands with a girl, they always say that my wrists are cute. I guess it's supposed to be a compliment, but whatever. I didn't use to wear wrist straps, but now I definitely do. I have developed a small case of arthritis in my left wrist, except mine is on the joint on the thumb side. Without the straps, it would flare up and was a real pain, but with proper stretching and straps, I keep it under control with no pain at all. I would highly recommend buying some gloves with wrist straps. Nike makes a really good pair that doesn't rip and has extra padding on the palms to prevent callouses.

Ok, I was just suprised my young healthy joints have taken such a beating that they need extra support after just 6 months of lifting... They only hurt on db wrist curls though nothing else...

I think everyone's wrists get a little sore doing wrist curls. There's a group of bones between your hand and arm, and when you put weight on them and turn your hand up and down, you are doing a number on your wrists. It won't hurt you, but it can make them sore.
 
Ok well Im not gonna stop doin them, my forearms are pretty big (ask KoRiN) and seated db wrist curls are the best exercise for them Iv found so far...
 
make sure your benching and curling good form

when i used to get wrist problems i started curling with my hands forced supinated (forearm flexed throughout motion).

couldnt lift as much, but it actually helped me focus on the bicep more, and built up my forearms and took tension off my wrists

additionally, lower the bar on your palm when you bench, so that instead o fhaving it pushing ur wrist back, its flexed and sturdy, like your getting ready to punch someone in the face with each bench press rep

I dont do any form of curling, I dont do any direct bicep work at all. With my bench I already do it like that, letting it rest in my hand with it bent back always looked uncomfortable so I never tryed it...

wrist curls and no bicep curls?

do you do cleans or standing overhead press? when its at rest under your chin do you feel it bending back on the wrists very uncomfortably?

Lol I dont do cleans or OHP.

Wrist curls because I love my forearms and they grow pretty good from db wrist curls, my biceps have always been smaller and Iv never found curls made any differance, I do chins which give them a good pump but nothing else, at 14 anyway I only concentrate on the core lifts and build my body as a whole, rather than concentrating on weak points. I just think thick forearms look sick.

Oh I have started doing 3 sets mechanical advantage extended preacher curls, althought I only started that today and my wrists have been getting worse and worse over the last month so they dont have anything to do with it...

blame bill star not me, Ill do them when my bench stalls but atm this is the fastest progression i have ever made on bench so Im not changing anything.

How big are your forearms?

They are skinny.


I was an absolute twig when i started lifting, forearms espaecially. My wrists are like 5 inches thick, lol. Forearms are like 13.5 or 14" around there. My bi's are nearly 18's though.

I guess if you look at my avatar, they don't look that skinny. I want them much thicker though. I have been able to start doing deadlifts again after a few months, and they have gotten a little thicker this month.

all i gota say is form, form, form form.

i laughed when everyone used to say it to me, and id deadlift balls to the walls, squat ass to floor and let my back round, but all in all i had "pretty good form". then i got my first back injury senior year...

curls are fun man. heavy barbell curls, or even some hammer curls will do your core lifts some good

Been training seriously about 6 months now, started mid september but since the I was lifting that whole year janurary to september but just n00b workouts, I did arms and shoulders pretty much every workout lol, OHP, Db curl, EZ curl, skullcrusher, hammer curl, upright row, chins and not much else lol. Them september I wanted to get real about it and since them I put on around 35lbs.

Yeah form has gotten real shit on deads so Iv dropped the weight 50lbs back and started again with perfect form, squat form you can check that I just posted a vid of my squats today in my journal on here.

Yeah curls are fun, I like the pump it gives and the only places I have every had a pump in is biceps, triceps and forearms. The thing is I always just feel like Im wasting my time and I like my gym sessions to be short and hard, doing curls at the end Iv never benefitted from just seems a waste of time.

Im doin these preachers atm but then after 6 weeks or so Ill change it to somthing else, Im just gonna start hitting the biceps hard and keep at it, eventually they have to grow... lol.
