You just need to decide if you really want to take that chance. Just be glad that she told you she had herpes before you did anythying...she could have lied to you.
I found it funny that a female friend of mine told me that she had herpes and had had it for years... Turned out she had only had it for a VERY short period of time and had lied where and when she had gotten it.

It would really piss me the f*ck off it after a couple of months she told me while she was cying to make me not want to get angry. Another point to consider is that even if protected (with a condom) it is still possible to receive/transmit herpes. Think about it, the condom doesn't cover the whole shaft, nor the scortum which most times would come into contact with some part of an infected pussy. There is no safe sex when it comes down to herpes.
