Wine help....

I'd really like to purchase a decent bottle of wine for me and my girlfriend. She will be out of town all of next week so I can drive and pick something up...

She loves white wine mostly...but drinks red on occasion. I mostly just drink beer but if she has some wine laying around I'll have a few glasses with her.

Tonight we drank some sort of $9 a gallon white wine and if it is cold enough it isn't bad. Any suggestions???

I don't have much money at all...but I would like to surprise her a little when she returns (NEXT Saturday).

Most White wine usually tastes better, but there are some great reds as well. just don’t think the more money you spend the better tasting it will be. you can pick up a decent bottle for $15-$20 bucks, Something she will appreciate anyways. you can pick up a cheap bottle of Merlot, Chardonnay or White Zinfandel pretty much anywere. Probably your best bet. My favorite is a red wine, very smooth and easy to drink, but I can’t think of the name right now, Cabernet Sauvignon or something, been out of the game to long.

Here’s a good chart if you want to get technical

fine wine is like a hobby to me..... i guarantee you she will love "columbia Crest" its a white wine with full body but not filling...... its about 20.00 i've spent more and had shit...this would be a great choice.

Try a [Yellow Tail] Shiraz or something of the sort. It's a great wine from Australia and is growing very popular at a very reasonable cost. You'd spot the bottle quickly...yellow wrap-around stripe with a kangaroo below.

Oh, this stuff is GOOD! I usually don't like reds very much, but this is the exception. I hear they have a rather good Merlot too. And, it's under $10 a bottle. Kendall Jackson also makes a good Reisling. It's on the sweet side, and a little pricier.

Very sweet of you B Fold!

Sorry brotha...I can't do the "cold white wine thing"....ok maybe on occasion. However the best wine for the money is Black Opal...its a Cabernet/Merlot Blend and it is under $10.

Charles Shaw has an OK line of wines some going for $2-3 a bottle. Hopefully they carry it in your neck of the woods.
Nicknamed 2 buck chuck..

This way you can get a few different bottles in Red, White, Chardonay, Merlot and see which style you like.

I am a Red wine drinker when I do drink any, which is rare.
I'm with you and prefer a GOOD COLD DRAFT or bottle of beer.

Bonny Doon Muscat "Vin de Glaciere." Sweet dessert wine. Absolutely delicious. But it's like $16 for a 375ml bottle. But it's worth it.
