Wife thinks I'm gonna die in my sleep?

C.C, from what M.O.D was describing sounds more like bad dreams. I've had them for about 5 years with the exact same symptoms. I checked in a dream book, paralyzation is caused by a lot of undue stress. Then I proved that b/c I had one the episodes the night before I went back to school after a couple years. Maybe something to think about.

Bro, sleep apnea has nothing to do with AS use. You need to see a doc. They have a machine you wear while you sleep which gets rid of the sleep apnea symptoms. It can be life threatening. Sometimes you breathe out and never breathe in. That is when it becomes fatal. Please see a doc because death from Sleep Apnea is definitely preventable with the proper treatment.

Never had the paralysis dreams but I would find myself
all of a sudden up out of bed and standing trying to breath again. Id still be 80% asleep and it would scare the crap out of me. I did the sleep clinic and it was covered by Blue Cross. You spend the night there and they hook you up to a bunch of monitoring devices. Cant remember the number but they count the number of times you stop breathing in certain span of time. I think its 1 hour and 8-12 episodes clearly distinguishs the disorder. Mine were 26. So they came in and put the CPAP on for the first time. I dropped right asleep and slept straight thru till morning w/o a single other episode. I also went into rem for the first time that night.
Its been a whole new better life since the diagnosis.

Sounds like sleep apnea,

I don’t think you are going to die,

It is a very common problem and often treated.

However, on the bright side- dying in you sleep is not a bad way to go!
;)

Sleep apnea doesn't only effect overweight people. It is just more common in them. Middle aged men are the most succeptable group of people to this condition. Adding extra weight increases the odds of this. It is defineately something to get checked out though as it can be a serious condition. Not only from the risk of stopping breathing in sleep but also in the onset of chronic fatigue syndrom.

Sleep Apnea.............it just sounds like something scary,I 'm definately going to do some research on it. Any implications that Sleep Apnea can be induced by the usage of AS if one is gentetically predisposed?

MOD

Do you know for a fact that when you feel like your awake but cant move is sleep apena?

I've had that happen several times and pretty much everyone I know has I was always under the impression that this was normal. I have not had it happen in a while but when it does it SUCKS. Let me know if this is for sure a sign of sleep apena.

Thanks
