Why is the rest of the worlds opinion of the US negative?

This statement is an indicator that there is little use in attempting to discuss something with you in a logical manner. "That's about it to date", is a ridiculous statement.

My majors were mathemathics and chemical engineering, if you read the whole post you see that I am trying to compare like with like here , some empires made quantum leaps in the advancement of mankind , of course my views are subjective by definition. That is the epitome of logic.

Personally I think that the Romans did far more than Christianity , in fact the age of enlightenment was perhaps the most productive period in human history ,subjective of course.
Astronomy, physics , medicine , art ,mathemathics and the very sadly neglected philosophy - they did it all and they did it very very well.

America has pioneered mass market media and many military advances (often stealing ideas from others such as V2 rockets/submarines/etc.) , that's about it to date.

OK, well nice to see what your agenda is.

Automobile
Flight
Numerous vaccines
Nuclear energy
Man on the moon
Spaceship to the edge of the solar system
The computer
The Internet

More has been accomplished in the last 100 years of American existence than in the 4 billion earth years that preceded it.

Hater.

I think this point can be argued that this was benefitted simply by the exponential growth in human discovery. Granted the U.S. has a lot to do with it, but perhaps if it was any other country it would still be the same. The more mankind learns, the faster the rate at which it learns. The U.S. perhaps just had the resources to take advantage.

I'm calling bullshit on this one.........

Man has not managed all that much in comparison to nature. Man has failed to create life or anything that is truly capable of thinking for itself. Flight existed before the USA existed........we just emulated Nature on this one too. Nuclear energy has always existed.........we cant even figure out nuclear fusion (we are good at hoaxes though).

I agree that man in general has achieved a lot..........you have overstated the case IMO. As for attributing all of the serious advances in the last 100 years (that is what you are trying to do right?).......well fuck you. That is about as narrow minded and arrogant as it gets.

I have pretty much concluded that Matt exhibits al of the traits that most of us don't like in Americans........arrogance, narrow-mindedness etc.

Fuck me? Another guy who sounds like he has an agenda. This post was not designed to compare man to Nature...don't know what that has to do anything, or how you expect man to invent something "unnatural". That's a silly discussion anyway. Let's just look at facts and stop the name calling, OK? Using your examples:

FACT: Nature didn't give man flight. Man gave it to himself. where did man get flight? America.

FACT: Nuclear fusion does not occur on Earth in Nature, only in the stars. Man has brought nuclear fusion to Earth; that's how a hydrogen bomb works. Same good old fusion you'd find on the Sun. And where did man perfect nuclear fusion on Earth? America. We are struggling with cold fusion, but then again, Nature hasn't produced that either.

Those were the examples you cited: flight and fusion. The rest is for your enrichment.

FACT: Nature put Man on earth. Man decided he wanted to visit the moon. so he did. What country did this? All together now....America.

FACT: You and I have never met. We are thousand of miles apart. Yet we can exchange comments at near light speed. How? Using our computers on this wacky thing called the Internet. Where were computers invented? America. And which country invented the Internet? well, holy shit....it's America.

Those are facts. No arrogance or closed mindedness.

lol........thats all I can say. How about you remove your head from your ass and try to imagine how you sound to us mere mortals.

Funny shit.........why use a time scale of billions of years if nature does not count? I think that is being sensationalist at best.......trying to make your precious country sound far greater than it is. Again, that is expected if other peoples views of the american public are true.

OK. what is the point of your comments about Nature? Because you introduced them out of nowhere without a logical link to any previous post.

Exactly...some of you are getting too carried away and your dislike of America as a whole is beginning to show through.

Well I could elaborate but I dont have time.............unfortunately.
Call it a cop out or whatever you like but I have to get some sleep.........the Lord knows (at least he / she would if he / she exists) that I need as much beauty sleep as I can get.
