why does soccer always attract hooligans?

you only find a game boring when you don't understand it

or never played it

nope, sorry disagree.
I played from ele all the way through my 12th grade yr in school.
and soccer is boring to watch.
and it's pretty simple to understand

it's the great balance between 22 skilled individuals and 2 skilled teams that makes it so watchable
far better than basketball. American football is beyond boring.

It goes back to the origins of the game. Kicking the severed head of your enemy around the town is one of life's guilty pleasures. Consequently, it's traditional to turn the blind eye when things get rowdy.
More legend than fact. If you have any links to information on that one, be interested in reading them.

Hooliganism is associated to football simply by the fact that hooligans have chosen football to be their medium, the stage on which they can act out their idiocy. They use the tension and rivalry of the game to incite violence and conflict. True football fans want nothing to do with this type of person or conduct.

Can understand a lot of Americans finding football boring, it must be difficult to concentrate for 45 minutes at a time without a break in the play for a hotdog and some bimbo dancing. Americans seem to prefer their marathon beer guzzling burger munching social sporting events where nobody really has any idea what's going on. Saying that, been pleasantly surprised by the amount of American interest in the game during this World Cup.

No , your correct. It's an old, popular legend that is often told. I was being a bit facetious.

On the other hand, there's no hard evidence disproving the notion. Given what life was like in Middle Age Europe, it's my misguided opinion that such incidents may have sporadically occurred. Where theres smoke, there's fire.
