Believe it or not, religion plays a big part in keeping the world running in a positive direction. It may not be able to cure everything, such as the violence you see on the news everyday, but without it, where would we be? The church family (everyone that goes to church and believes in a decent religion), is brought together for reasons other than violence, and negativity. It is brought together by happiness, and a desire to do what's right (although you don't have to go to church to do what's right). The next time you go to church, take a look at the people around you, and be sure to notice the genuine smile most of them give you when they shake your hand and say "hi". If you have religion, it's best not to try to prove the bible with science, but rely on good faith to do what's right and be happy. You don't have to be a "holy roller", or start preaching on the street corner to go to church, or support going to church. Some people laugh at criminals when they come out of prison by saying, "All of these guys wait until they go to prison, THEN they decide to find God." My answer to that is, "Well, you have to find God sometime." I'm far from being "rightious" person, as church people say. I go out on the weekends and do a lot of dirty things (one night stands, partying, etc.) I rarely even go to church. BUT, whenever the subject of religion comes up, I respond to it in much the same way I have here. Religion does have a good place in this world, and there are a lot of good things to be said about people who believe in God.

I actually understand the believers, there is lots of sciences out there explaining why humans believe in a god. It comes from thousand of years of evolution to explain things that we do not have answers for yet. Most we do now, so a belief in god will be less and less intergrated in our society.

To the believers-

Really think about this now, ARE YOU SURE THERE IS A GOD?? Summon him if you can. Really try to. Does he respond? Ask him to come and preform a miracle at your church, and make sure you bring a camcorder. If he does NOT preform, then ask for the same thing every Sunday. Bring the camcorder.

the way i look at it is....what is it going to hurt to believe in god/jesus/ or a higher power......until we die know one is going to know for sure.....but wouldnt you rather be prepared and make it to heaven and spend eternity there than in hell....giving blow jobs to satan every day..... ......i am by far from a perfect church goer but i plan on getting there someday

i think that it's very important for everyone to find a unique way of believing, and for me believing in god isn't the same as believing in god

everybody has got to make up his mind on how to believe because i don't think it's right to simply accept everything

just because you can't see god, nor prove that this or that happend because he wanted it to happen doesn't mean that he doesn't exist

because if you claim that he doesn't exist you also claim that you don't exist either, or can you prove it?

I believe in God. I don't have to explain myself to anyone as to why I do. I don't question their religion/faith/ect or belittle it, and won't put up w/ that shit either. People should mind their own fucking business on who/what they do or do not worship and we'd all be better off.

If you already live so moral, take the next step and claim Jesus as your savior, its the difference between bowing down from heaven or hell, and eternal joy or suffering. Is reading the bible, believing in what you can't see, and having faith that horrible to you, that you won't risk the chance of being saved since yourliving so well anyways?

Decem it truely pains my heart to see your arguements, because I know them so very well from my own head for many years, and I know what it finally took for me to believe, and I really hope you accept God before your pushed that far, or your death. Honestly man I've read some of your other posts and you have a very keen mind, just don't let it get in the way.

I asked before what it would take for you to believe, I have another question, what is it that drives you to run from God, have you ever genuinely tried opening your heart and praying with faith for Him to help you see? I beg you try it, please its so important. If it doesn't work whats the worst that'll happen you've wasted 2 minutes of your day. I'd even be more than happy to study with you or discuss it in further detail I see so much of who I was in you man its scary. Its so easy to take the "inteligent" approach to God, yet when you think about it the best choice is to give it a shot, even if its just one prayer thats genuine, or a week of reading the bible occasionally. Will it cost you that much int he long run, when you compare to what you'll gain?

Btw about the using He to describe God. There really isn't a sex ascribed to God, but Jesus is described as the earthy image of God, so He is most commonly applied. Its stated there won't be a certain sex in heaven.
