Why did Ronnie Coleman win last Mr. Olympia? Why not Kevin?

First off thanks for the reply, however I'm slightly confused. Arnold won the 1972 Olympia contest. Whether or not he should have, is a debate for another post. Maybe you meant that. However that is irrelevant, since I was simply pointing out that yes, several Mr. Olympia winners have been dethroned, contrary to the opinions of a few people on this board. However I did appreciate the reply

Simple fact no reigning mr. olympia has ever been dethroned.

That isn't true, it has happened several times- Arnold beat defending champ Sergio Oliva in 1970, Frank Zane was the defending champ in 1979 and was "dethroned" by Arnold in the 1980 Olympia, In 1984 Samir Bannout was the defending champ and got trounced by Lee Haney.

Look Dorian is not in any way shape or form ever planning on competing again. Not that he couldn't be theres really no point. Now a pose down with Coleman that's somthing totally different, that would be way FUCKING COOL. There's been rumors of one taking place at Olympia 2001. Only time will tell. I herd Dorians back up to 285 and he looks awesome.

Levrone should have won BY FAR!!! Holy fucking shit are you shitting me!!??? Ronnie looked bloated with a big fucking roid gut and not ripped as the year before. Levrone came in WAY better and it was totally obvious in my opinion.

Levrone had him. I hate to admit, because I like the mass monsters and Levrone is a bit pretty for my taste. But still, the wrong man won. It's happened before and it will happen again. The shows are sanctioned by the IFBB, the judges work for the IFBB, and the Weiders are the IFBB. If Joe wants Ronnie to be he champ, then Ronnie is going to be the champ. Ronnie will win it again. If he comes in looking like he did at the arnold, he'll deserve it. Like what has already been said, when Ronnie is in top form, he can't be beat. However, he can show up looking like a circus fat man and he will still win. I would say the battle will be between Levrone and Cormier for second. First is a lock. I remember Levrone saying at the Mr. Maryland back in late june that he hadn't touched a weight in 5 months. I think I heard that he was going to start 3 months out from the show. That tells me that he knows it doesn't matter how good he looks, he isn't going to win. He is looking at life beyond bodybuilding now. My guess is that this will be his last O'.

Franco won in '76 and didn't win again until '81. All of these champions with the exception of Arnold and Lee were reigning Mr. Olympias when they lost. Maybe I read your post wrong?
