Why are there so many criminals in the NFL,NBA ,and not NHL?

a buddy of mine lives in erie, pa. . .he has three kids in midget hockey. . .his out of pocket investment for equipment, skates, sticks, bags, etc was in the thousands. . .then they make the traveling teams and you have overnight excursions to pittsburgh, cleveland, buffalo, rochester, syracuse, etc. . .sometimes he and his wife are taking the kids in opposite directions. . .it's fuggin' ridiculously expensive.

Even if it wasn't I think the kids from the block would by and large rather play basketball/football since they identify with it more. Sure economic implications play a role in that, but that's another issue, and this pretty much sums it up-

That's no different than 20 years ago when I played. Hell, road trips all thru New England and Canada plus equipment and rink fees. One year, I bet my parents forked out about 10K on me. Our midget team also won the New England Mini-one on one tourney with the final played at the Garden.

most of the guys that make it to the nhl came from a household like my friend in erie. . .the kids from affluent families, that have the best equipment and the money to travel end up getting ahead. basketball on the other hand is incredibly cheap and football (at least where i grew up) is, and always has been, funded (donations, grants, govt funds, etc) from the midget level on up. . .all we ever had to buy was cleats and mouthguards.

The last stat I read on the population of black peeps in the U.S. was somewhere around 8%.

With regard to that statistic, given the population of white peeps, I'm going to assume you flunked math in special education.

They probably got reprimanded for sure..........but probably nothing like what happened to Artest after that detroit fan threw beer on him...........you have to admit there is somewhat of a double standard here..........
