If that was the case then why are people using methods and trianing philophies preached by the USSR olympic coaches and many exercise scienctist of the past and present. (Ie. Siff, Verhoskansky, Zatsiorsky, Tudor, Kreamer, Flek.. etc)

fuck em bro , i will try your routine no probs

ok. check out needsize's routine, cause that's what i'm going with lol

guess it's not my routine, but everyone says it's a good routine, so yeah, i'm gonna work it. i've been doing pyramids for 2 months now, and that's worked out pretty good for me, but i have a feeling the way 5x5 works it's going to give me a little bit faster results. and everything everyone has said, yeah, i'd love to go in to the gym every week already knowing how much i'm going to lift, not going in wondering what i'm going to be able to work with that day.

i guess i started this thread to see if i could answer a question that i state every day...why are people so stupid? you see/read news stories and just scratch your head and wonder. you see people do things and you just wonder why. it'll never change really. so in order to get away from a lot of stupidity, i went back to college after a 7 year absence. and even then, i talk to college students and they really don't give a rats ass. they skip classes, they're satisfied with Cs and Ds, when they know full well that with some effort, they'll be A and B students. it just blows my mind sometimes. makes me wonder if the human race is doomed. but then i remember that there are still people out there with intelligence. so really, maybe i should ask myself, why is it i always come into contact with the stupid people?!

i especially dont wanna get as big as the guys in the magazines

eh, no, definetly not. yeah, i want to be able to see every muscle, i want some more definition, but not that freakish type definition. i'd rather bulk up and be thick everywhere than have that ripping definition. i have no desires for competing bodybuilding or for strength, and with all my tattoos, prolly wouldn't be able to anyway...my half sleeve on my right arm kind of hides the definition of my bicep and tricep. and that type of ripping high definition physique has to be hell to maintain. while it looks good, i want to have some flexibility in my diet and routine.

fiance says i'm getting hard to snuggle up to now. literally, i'm getting harder. she says she doesn't like it, i used to be softer. she's stated that she doesn't like ripping muscles everywhere, and no, i don't want to look that way either. but in the end, it's my body and i'm the one that's working on it. she just has to live with the results. hope she likes it.

Nefi says that I get bigger every time that she sees me. She can't get her arms around me as it is and knows that I plan to get A LOT bigger and stronger.

She likes my attitude towards my goals though.

Why are people so stupid?

I was doing deadlifts today, and a guy was "trying" to do deal lift with a
__
_/| |\_ shaped bar.
\|_|/
Anyone seen it? basically a guy stands in middle and dips down. Its really weird I tried it once and didn't like it. Well back to the story, when he would go down he would bend his back, it would turn into an Mcdonals Arc! After seeing he do this for 2 sets, I told him that he was doing it wrong, also told him that he could pinch some of his nerves, or even cause miss alingment on the discs of the spinal cord. He listens to me, then goes back to doing deadlifts with his back totally curved!

ARGGGGGG I mean wtf??? I felt like grabing a barbell and wacking him hard on his spine when he was down and in that arc position.

For someone who realizes that trapbar deadlifting is a very productive exercise, it kinda sucks that he had no idea how to execute it.

yet again another fine point debaser

personally, i would use trapbar DL over any other. After reading beyond brawn i never looked back and my back never looked better :D

Some people just get jealous. For example, I entered the Marine Corps in 2002 at 130lbs. I started working out there to help me with my infantry training, and after 6 months of just using creatine, protein(eat as much as you want during chow :-)), and hardcore training, I put on 61 lbs(about 50lbs muscle)! I came back for christmas leave and everyone was surprised how big I was. I got the typical "what are you on" and all that. But I was with one friend when some girl mentioned how big I was, and he said "Yeah, but he has to workout all the time or else he'll lose it". The way he said it made it sound like it was a horrible thing, something he would never do. That ticked me off, because anything worth something in life you have to work hard for. Now I'm back though, and he wants me to help him design a workout routine because he saw how many compliments I'm getting! LOL! Long story short, people get jealous and don't like to listen because it makes them feel inadequate because now you are bigger and smarter(at the very least in training) than they are, and they hate it. That's just my 2 cents.
