Why are females so attention hungry?

I noticed that most of their life is revolved around getting attention. I even notice it with my niece, she does everything to make sure she gets attention. I noticed my friend's son flys solo and doesn't really starve for the attention.
 
Attention = life.

Seriously. Take your attention off something and it essentially ceases to exist.

Attention = life.

It's the most important thing in this world to most people.

And dudes are just as bad, we just go about it in different ways (i.e. cockslapping each other Sat mornings after bragging about the chick we boinked the night before)

well, you hear of guys that go off and live in the mountains by themselves, no women will ever do that. women want it so much more than men and it so much more important to them.

another example, every other myspace bulletin from a female is, "Please comment my new pics." no freaking guy does that.

Correct, most guys will not come right out and say that, instead they do what many guys here do and come up with lame BS reasons to post their pics, but with the exact same desired outcome.

Different paths leading to the same place, man. But nobody admits it, which is the only issue I have ever had.
 
I, for one, love attention. Only when it's earned tho. Not a big fan of simply putting up a pic to get it or telling people I fuck hot chicks to get it.

I'm more of an entertainer. When I am in a room full of people, I can't help myself - I have to start performing. I'll spend an elaborate amount of time on coming up with good material too. I'm sure that can be defined as being an attention whore. So be it. Attention is teh awesome when it's earned and it's from desirable peeps.

face it, if it was as easy as fluttering your eyelashes and giggling your tits, guys would be moreso attention whores than gals are.
but i think the gender gap between attention whoring is shrinking big time.
look at the extreme measures dudes take to attention whore, esp on this site...we are in a new age
 
Everybody enjoys attention.

I think a better topic would be the things chicks do for that attention....That's where the genders are separated.

No doubt. And it's mostly our fault. All a chick has to do is show a little cleavage and dudes start throwing their wallets at her. No guys ever ask chicks to be interesting, intelligent, witty, or prove their worth above and beyond tits/ass/flirting/whoryness. It's sad.

But yeah, dudes are just as bad. Fuck, every 2 mins a dude here is coming up with an excuse to post his pic or talk about all these hot chicks who supposedly want him or make some stupid reference to his pimpidness (which I have also done, so shame on me).

Complain?

LOL I dont know if that is necessarily attention whoring though your point is well-taken.

For the record you are generally correct about MOST girls in this sense.

Grown women with lives get equally annoyed at this type of behavior.

That is true.

I used to fix up broads I dated. (before I knew better) A $200 dollar hair cut/color/style, the RIGHT makeup, the right amount of make up, the right clothes for her body, etc.

They looked so much better that they dumed me for a guy as good looking as Java.
 
Damn, those transformations are unbelievable!

I am trying to understand though why it is a negative thing for a female geek to be transformed into a beautyqueen but it is a positive thing for a male geek to be transformed into a master pick up artist.

Fact is that women don't alter their appearances like that to pander to other women. They do it to gain the attention of men. So if men don't like that (as this thread implies) then why don't they just ignore it?

I got bored with attention seekers years ago. I love a bit of confidence, but no way am I sitting around listening to someone boring the backside off myself as they inform everyone about a load of nothing!!
