I see you bitching alot about the boonies where you presently live so I am going to make this prediction for you as I have seen it happen before.

You hate where you live, now I bet by the time you finish school you will not want to leave because someitme between now and then you will bump in possibly your dream guy and fall in love blah blah blah you get the picture.

Its when we arent looking for it where we live presently because we are unhappy with our current living condidtions is when this shit usually happens.Happened to me many times in life as well as many friends.

what kind of design work? and what would you be willing to do until you could get that work?

ok... i live in alberta

i'd like to work in boston, ny area, chicago...

i cando illustration, desktop publishing type stuff, web design, i could do advertising... pretty much anything. i'm trying to be multi-skilled and i really like fiddly work that's detail-oriented.

i'm willing to waitress part time until i can get totally set in the field... i'm hoping to find something at least p/t or enough to get me a T1 or whatever visa and then i'll supplement my income with something else...

but i know two things:

i love design,
and i want to live in or near a big city (preferably eastern US)
