It's baseball time. My son plays on two select teams, one 13U and a 14U. It's very cold down here, it's inthe 20's now with freezing rain. He palys SS and pitches a little. Gimme some tips for workouts, what was the most important "thing" that you learned that made you better player?

If u want to throw hard, then fucking throw hard- almost everyday, the thing that made me better was not listening to what people told me i couldnt do. I went off on my own and found out how to make myself a better player. Become your own coach. Learn the game and adapt to it to fit your capabilities to make you the best player you can be. At the 13 or 14 year old age you find out how good you are. This is the best time to start dedicating yourself to the trade. I wish I had the tools then that I do now. Workout information- standard squats/deadlifts, push ups, floor press, chins/pulls, dips, glute ham raises. sled pushes, axe swings and med balls. Throwers 10 - thrower10

thanks for the link! I knew about all those, I already had plans to buy the tube/s. That has ALL the exercises in one place, I really appreciate you taking the time to find that for him. What I like about those, you can do them anytime. I also want to find the best long toss program. I see them on Ebay, but you can never tell if they're worth a shit....

I'll tell him what you said about throwing hard. He only has one knock, arm strength, he has a monster glove, but could get the ball to first faster. The way he plays, he'll make 99% of the throws on the money, slower than the other kids-alot slower, but he generally gets the runner by a step or two. The other kids who want to play SS, they throw 20mph faster, but only get 70% of them there. That's where he makes his money.....

Alan jaeger has the best long toss program on the planet. Hes got kids throwing 95-100.

I just bought it on Ebay. I had that bookmarked but just hadn't pulled the trigger until you mentioned it. I'm going to check the price of arm bands at Abademy vs those he sells, his are 25 bucks, they may be a tad cheaper at a sports store idk...
