Who is your favorite guitarist?

I fucking knew it!

My biggest influences on guitar are George Harrison & John Lennon, Pete Townshend, and Page. Harrison, Lennon, and Townshend probably have more of an influence on me, but Page is the best musician out of that bunch so he's the one I chose for this thread.

You know deebs, if Page did'nt own or play a Telecaster, you would'nt even have given him a second thought! ;)

Nah, he'd still be the riff master even on a Les Paul. Oh, wait, he used a Les Paul live for most of his career...

Actually, very few of my favorite guitarists used the Telecaster as their primary instrument, although a lot of them have gone through Tele phases.

I have everything Zakk has released. Pride and Glory IMO is his best stuff, hands down!

Come to think of it, I've worked with Zakk Wylde for at least four shows. It's been a while though. I mixed an acoustic set for him here once, but he had his own tech for the BLS shows. He's easy to work with, and isn't above shooting the shit with crew members. One of the times he was here was just a day or two after he'd had his signature Les Paul stolen in Dallas.

Exactly! It amazes me how so many people think he's just "an Ozzy guitarist".

The Black Label Society show at House of Blues here in anaheim sold out in 2 hours!! Goddammit!!!! Fucking bikers. :(

Jimmy Page. there'll probably never be another one as innovative prolific, technical, creative all in one package. he changed the future of music almost as profoundly as did the beatles.

I met him & Plant backstage at some commemoration concert (I think the atlantic records anniversery or ahmet ertegen birthday concert), I thought I was gonna faint like a schoolgirl.

Telecasters have their place for certain styles of music (i still use my fender for country/bluegrass and blues licks).

But i love my Les Paul for that "heavy shit!". Les Paul Custom, EMG 81/85.

Here's a song I wrote this evening at my singer's pad with it. I'm gonna add a bridge, a solo, and he's gonna add the vocals on top with some keyboards this weekend than mix it.

It's very "current" sounding and definately written to sound bad-ass live!.

Peter Green - Black Magic Woman, Man Of The World etc

Not the most technical but right up there when it comes to feeling.
