Who here has a concealed handgun permit and carries a gun?

I've had a CCW for about 3 years, I'm armed with a Kimber CDP nearly all the time. Michigan State Law also frowns on folks entring your house uninvited...hence the handy dandy Remington Express Mag with the 00 buck next to the fridge.:)

Depends on where people live: in AZ it's easy as pie. in California..hahahahaha! Good luck gettin' one.

Guess where most of the crime and murders occur?

Prove that there is a direct correlation between the crime level and C&C permits.

I've had a ccw on and off at times but not right now.

I'm down to two Glocks right now.

me and my wife both used to carry, it's common place where we used to live (that gives you an idea of how fucked up that place got when this seems normal behavior). We both trained in close quarter shooting as well (I wanted to compete)

When we moved here I sold both guns, turned over the permits and never been happier.

Carrying a gun is a HUGE responsibility. Who has a better chance? you with all your fancy "shoot at paper target" courses or the guy who makes a living killing people? If you are going to hesitate (even for a second) about shooting and killing a person and all the consequences of it, you are better off not carryng a gun. As they say, don't carry it if you don't intent to kill something with it. A gun is not only for scaring

I´ve had mine permit for 7 years now and always carry my guns.
HK usp custom sport and G34 on the left side.
Both in fobus holsters, absolutely satisfied with this combo.
I go to the range twice a week, summer or winter, snow or rain.

I agree that plifter has posted some good points.

I have one (which isn't easy in Canada anyway) and carry sometimes a P7PSP (summer, in shoulder holster) or a Glock 29 (winter, belt holster).

What about a shoulder holster? Cargo pockets would hide any compact....

Shoulder holster = sweaty and you look like a UC cop. You have to dress appropriately for a shoulder holster. I rarely wear a sport coat and I'd remove a regular coat once I was inside somewhere.

Cargo pockets = sloppy. It looks like you're carrying. When I'm out, I look nice in a pair of jeans and T. Cargo pockets = cargo pants = Crocodile Dundee or Steve Irwin.

For city life, sub-compact like one of the S&W .38 specials in the exotic alloys or a KARR I think are the way to go.

Shoulder holster is useful if you drive a lot or expect to be attacked while driving. But pick your gun carefully if you dont wanna have a weird lump under your shoulder.

Cargo pockets ? You mean a fanny pack ?
