Who feels bodybuilding has ruined strength training in America??

I'm a huge Chess fan and always will be, but sometimes it can seem a little two dimensional or linear.

Still, you feel so damn cool playing it!

Use to play what we called battle chess with my brother, for every piece you lost you had to take a punch. Much like today I ended up bruised and feeling stupid

wow, thatts an excellent idea.. But it would be a little unfair. Iron Lion can loose most of his pieces, but if Shark even looses one pawn, watch out, 300+ lbs of raw punching power coming your way loooollll

There are so many pathways that it is hard to see it only as two dimensional or linear, but it always depends on how you define things.

There are a set number of movements that can be done though, but that number is so high that it might as well be infinite for humanly purposes.

Real men would settle this with knives.

Uhh, I am going to have to put my money on IronLion in this one. And IronLion, if you are the challanged party, you can choose the weapons. If I were you, I would recommend sledgehammer in 6 feet of water. Very few will defeat you in such a duel.

I on the other hand would choose, (if challenged to a duel) Derringer pistols at 400 yards. But that is just me.

Truthfully, there isn't a guy on these boards who could survive a fight with a couple of the guys at the park
gotta disagree man:)
Unless you can truely take out a national champion... you don't have a shot.
done it more than once:)

This thread has turned pretty entertaining:D

When I say that chess is two dimensional, I'm saying there isn't enough going on to hold my attention. I'm not Deep Blue and thus cant predict 100 steps ahead.

I am good at the game, but find myself losing interest fast becase there aren't any flashy visuals or "fun" strategies (Like "let's load up this pawn full of explosives and send him crashing into that group of pawns over there!")

hehe and this thread reminds me how much I hate internet machismo...

There's hundreds of people from all over the world on this site. You think all of them are just weekend warriors. There are pro and amateur bodybuilders, fighters and other very elite athletes. There are people on here that know who I am. Relax:)

It's rather presumptiuous of you to think me to be that naive. I know that there are plenty of professional bodybuilders, powerlifters and amateurs as well. I know that more people than just lifters are on these forums.

As for who you are? I don't know and I don't really care. I've always believed that the thing which makes the internet great is that it removes faces and bodies from conversation and the sharing of opinions and knowledge. That way you can use or discard information on its merit, as opposed to what some "giant guy with 22 inch arms" told you. That's what you get with Flex...this place is better than Flex :)
