While I was deadlifting last night....

....Two of the prettiest boys I've ever seen were at my gym last night doing, what else, chest and arms. Both lean and muscular, but more swimmer builds. Kinda like former skinny guys who'd done a good amount of work to put at least some size on. Zero body hair, fully tanned, and both had their little black gym outfits on. It was so precious I almost wretched on sight.

So anyway, pretty boy #1 is spotting pretty boy #2 on db presses with the 120s I think, might have been more. Either way, didn't make much difference. Neither one of them had any business with that kinda weight. Hell I can barely handle that for more than a couple reps.

The funny part was that pretty boy #2's attempt at the first rep failed....failed pretty darn miserably actually. Long story short, it landed on pretty boy #1's foot!!

I was doing deads about 15 feet away from these two geniuses and was having a very hard time not laughing out loud. :D But I behaved myself since the poor dummy was in a good amount of pain...at least as much as his brain could register. So I shut my mouth and brought him some ice.

Good times. :D

Well, they're only kidding themselves. You get this all the time in gyms. People think they're impressing others by lifting heavy weights, it's just pathetic.

Hey...more power to ya. I know that's not an easy thing to do and I give these guys, and yourself, credit for that. But jeeeez! The wise man knows his limits. :supercool

Haha, yeah, no shit. I was a total beanpole up to about 3 years ago.

But I still have my chest hair and I don't lift to impress.


Funny story though. I hope that "pretty boy #1's" foot isn't broken though.

But maybe they'll learn something. Then again, not likely.

Nah, he's ok. By the time I got back with his ice (had to go next door to Baskin Robbins :D ), he already had his little shoe back on. Gotta say I felt a little stupid.

120 for overheads or flats? Not that it matter much if you cant lift it but that's a lot for Mens Health wannabes to be pressing. I assume the 'reps' were half reps with a generous spot lol.

I had a jackass drop a 130lber on my big toe a few years back, it totally destroyed my toenail.
 
there used to be some kids who would do db bench press with a person spotting on each side at my gym. they were pretty skinny kids trying to lift 100's and their friends were "spotting" them the whole way. once when one of them was done doing his reps, another yelled at him to throw the dumbells down. throwing them down made him seem real badass.
 
more restraint than me gymtime. karma for that. :)

damn that guy's lucky he didn't break his foot. people on here have posted about breaking their foot with just a 45 plate dropping on it. i've dropped a quarter plate on my toe before and that shit hurt!! i had to stop lifting for 5-10 minutes until the pain went away enough for me to concentrate on something else.

what kind of cone did you get while you were over at BR? i know you didn't just go over there for ice
