Which is my more impressive lift?

I would say your bench is better. That is a great accomplishment. I remember when I finally achieved that a few months ago. Hopefully before december my bench will be 400lbs. I have done shoulder presses with 100lb dumbbells for two reps that's it. Good job and keep benching.

My stats:18 yrs. old
Bench: 370
DL:500
Clean:300
Squat:580

only 18 year old I've ever known who was stronger was back to back state champion in discus and shot in my state. the bars in the weight room are bent because he would leave weight on them over the weekend.
 
Well it really depends how much in relation to his weight. I would hope that a 300lb person could bench 370lb. Now a 150lb dude benching 300 is good. :p

you could take all the drugs you want, but it doesn't mean you will be any stronger if you don't train, eat and sleep right. i've never seen a bottle of test bench press 300+.

my shoulders are unproportionately larger than any other part though.. :evil:


sounds like maybe you bench with a close to medium grip on the bar. try widening your hands out so that your index fingers are on the rings. this will take more of the stress off of your shoulders, and allows you to put more stress on major players in pressing.

Not to hijack, but Illuminati- I measure hand spacing by putting my hands whereever on the bar they make my forearms perpindicular to the ground when the bar is on my chest. I heard this was best for energy transfer...? For me, that makes my middle fingers on the rings.

Have you, or anybody else, heard/read about the perpindicular forearm thingy?

ive also never seen someone who has run 30 minutes for 10k turn into a 300 pound bench presser without drugs
 
What's more impressive....

Me getting my arse out of a chair...a good parallel squat of 275 lbs...depending on height of chair.

Or drinking a protein shake made with water and oats...

I am thinking getting my arse out of the chair is tougher!!!!

I don't know....protein and water is TOUGH.....if it is protein and milk, then getting out of the chair is much more impressive.
