Upstairs 58/60 during the day, 62/63 at night. Unless the kids and wife are out of town, then 58 max upstairs.

Downstairs stays at 64/65. With the basement @ 58.

It's always easier to warm up that it is to cool down in my house. And my 4 year old likes to be on the cool side.

I did get 50 free gallons of oil from a friend this year, so that makes it a bit easier to get by. We run a kerosene heater downstairs on days when it's below freezing outside. A few hours in the AM and then before bed really helps out.

I need to get a good wood stove for next season. My father got 16 gallons of oil on his last delivery. Only uses about 150 gallons a year. I go thru nearly 1000 gallons. Old plank house with minimal insulation.

It's set to around 63, but i would prefer it a little colder. we have a wood burning stove that generates a TON of heat. It's in the living room with cathedral ceilings, so i put the ceiling fan on low and it moves the heat around the house.

Mine has nothing to do with economics, I think it's too hot if it's over 60. The only reason I don't set my thermostat lower in the winter is it doesn't go any lower. Plus the pipes could freeze.
