Is there really a specific place/time marking the beginning of human life?
it talks about "giants" around noah's ark era and how the great flood killed them all.*The_West* said:where's the dinosaurs in the bible, huh?

didnt we evolve from apes? over the hundreds of thousands of years from we we started as single cell ameobas caused by the big bang?
funnily enough i never used to buy the big bang theory, either. surely a giant nuclear explosion cant create things like trees, cars, love, orgasms can it?
until i had a fleeting thought the other day, what if we are not the only other intelligent life forms around? maybe there are explosions like the big bang that happen throughout the billions upon trillions years of time and space nothingness, occasionly blowing up another planet like ours by freak chance, they evolve, live, over inhabit and ruin the planet beyond repair, all die, and disappear into the time space continuum.

Spartacus said:gene mapping or whatever it's known as has placed our origins down to a single tribe/group in africa
apparently too there's an "adam" that's the source for the gene code
Spartacus said:really it was a natgeo and/or discovery channel program about the whole human DNA path
and they traced it to a specific tribe in lower africa that's there today
and also we all have some genetic/DNA imprint that can be traced back to a single individual
I'm not much of a bible believer and generally scorn some of the suppositions the religious groups believe
but it did cross my mind as I was watching this about a single male sourcing our gene code
hey that's Adam
being an agnostic I do have room in my mind for the bible being stories for man that they could understand and/or relate to in those time periods
we kind of need a bible 2.0 though
it was very interesting as they visited the tribehanselthecaretaker said:What made the different races though....people from that tribe branched out to other areas of the earth for a reason.....
Also why do they call Asia "The Orient"?
