When To Start?

Hi, I'd like to formally introduce my noobness to the board.

M-5"11-265-33yrs old (Big Boned)

Some Background: I'm a former U.S. paratrooper who mysteriously morphed into a pathetic tub of gelatin over the last ten years. I suspect the strain of starting a family and trying to keep the bills paid may have had something to do with this remarkable transformation. Ahhh who the hell am I kidding? Twinkies, chili dogs, soda pop, and mostly laziness are to blame but I digress. At one time could bench around 315lbs. and squat around 450lbs. and run 2 miles in 12 minutes while weighing about 215. I was pretty much your average combat ready jump school goon.

Currently: I've been working hard at the gym to regain some former glory and most importantly the happiness I will need to bring in a 40th birthday without having a "goodnight sweet prince" revolver in my nightstand ready to rock incase the depression of being a pathetic miserable fat f*** is too much to bare.

I have lost some flab and have been feeling hard a strong and have been mixing in cardio for 30 minutes 4 or 5 times a week. My diet is far from perfect but alot better than it has been. I've been drinking whey protien shakes in the morning, carbs around workout time, and things like tuna fish or turkey sandwiches and protien shakes the rest of the day. My rules are simple; No sweets, carbs only right before I plan to be active, and protein anytime and frequently.

Goals:First and foremost I want to feel good and be as confident as my mind and body will allow my soul to be. In order to achieve this confidence it wouldn't hurt to make my abs visible through this disgusting flabalanche that I call my belly. It's not terrible but unsightly to say the least but getting better everyday. Naturally(poor choice of words), I also am ready to pack on some quality muscle and strength on what I already have.

Situation and Questions I have 2000mg of oxandrogen(anavar hopefully) and some nolva to add to my supplemantation in the coming months.
First, at what point of my conditioning should I start a cycle? Like I said, I'm 260 but literally big boned 8.5 inches around the wrist. I'm probably around 25% body fat maybe more. I could probably make some natural strength gains still but having the cycle in my possession may be too tempting plus I want to be the best I can be by summer not to mention the motivational reasons for getting good workouts.
Second, I'm pretty sure gyno is an issue with me, since puberty I've had puffy nips and I've never even done steroids before. With this history would Nolva be an option throughout the cycle or should I save it for the PCT after I have an idea after fat loss how big the problem actually is?

Anavar will NOT cause you to have any gyno issues. However please state you current weight, height, age and goals. Oh and the most important thing is post your diet on a daily basis
 
Var ain;t gonna do shit. It would be like adding expensive polish to an old rusty dirty car. You have to get your training in order first. There are also some good supps that will help.

Get the vehicle in top condition before adding gear. Learn more about gear. You dont even know that Var and nolva would never be used together.

Stick around. There's a lot to learn. If you're serious, you will.

I can handle the old a rusty, but the dirty made me want to smack you where you stand sir!

Anyways, I'm not trying to be pro, I just wants some strength added, some fat lost, and I want the process expidited. So oxandrogen will not help me at all unless I can get to peak natural condition first? Is that what you're saying?

Also, I'e been reading that nolva will help with gyno whether you are on gear or not. This nolva thing is of interest to me whether or not I choose to use Oxandrogen. My puffy nipples have been a source of embarrassement for as long as I can remember, I think it has even altered my posture.

I'm trying to post my pic for an avatar but the upload keeps failing, I'll figure it out eventually.

That is exactly what he is saying. To be honest, Anavar should only be ran with a bodyfat around 10%. That is where you see the gold.

For right now, you should focus on your diet and workout routine. Post them up in the correct sections so we can help you.

I'm starting to see that I have alot of potential naturally to consider before anavar will be needed to get me over a proverbial hump. I was also interested in Anavar's fat cutting qualities, I partly acquired it for this reason. I mean strength is great but fat melting off at a higher rate than normal is a pretty tempting side effect of taking this product even though I could've found a cheaper way to do it but what the heck. Either way, I'm bumping the cardio up and tweaking the diet to get this shit off of me.

And that was called sarcasm, I'm not here to disrespect anyone because it's not my nature and it's not nice. Sorry if it sounded like something that was was not intended so no disrespect. But at the same time respect goes both ways for me, I'm the one who is deciding Whether or not to donate 12 dollars monthly to this site so if I have a bad experience then thats probably not gonna happen, bro.

whats the diet like? macro's?
at a higher bf, you will be able to loose bf "easily" without having to worry about muscle loss if you do it the right way and keeping calories somewhat higher in the cutting side. 12-13x bodyweight. I'm starting at around 15-16x my bw for cutting, but its clean calories, which a cheat meal or 2 during the week, no extra cardio really just yet, but I am cutting slow to keep all my msucle since im cutting natty :D

I'll be adding in hcgenerate to elevate test levels while cutting to keep or even add some lbm. Its a great supp and i highly recommend it. helps with recovery big time.

post your diet so we can help you with it, maybe add some l-carnitnine and a lot of cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning or after your W/O at lest 40 minutes slow pace. No carbs after 5pm, just prot and veggies.
 
Thanks for the support guys, I really appreciate it and it does a great deal for motivation knowing I can share my story with you guys who have been there.

My diet has little ryhme or reason to it but it's gotta be better than the cheesburger/pizza diet that I'm used to.

Usual day

The protien shake is Body Fortress Whey protien w/ 8 grams of BCAA's+Crystalline taurine+Glutamine. (52g) protien (4g) fat
(6g) carb.

8am ---protien shake and fruit/ creatine and omega 3(one a day type)
10:30am ---some carbs usually a bag of healthy type chips
11am ---15 min jogging /1hour lifting/ 30 min elliptical/ 10min in the sauna.
1pm ---protien shake/ fruit/ and tuna fish sandwich or turkey sandwich or PBand J all with whole grain breads.
3pm ---fruit or yogurt or cottage cheese
6pm ---dinner/ chicken or fish with veggies (I probably cheat twice a week also).
8pm ---protien shake/ creatine.

note* I take alot of trips to the drinking fountain but I know that I need to drink a ton of water and I'm probably falling a bit short of whats needed for proper hydration. I will fix this.

I'm just doing what I think is right but I really have no knowledge of proper diet for cutting weight. I'm getting addicted to cardio though and I have zero cravings for cigarettes, fast food, or weed, all things that I've struggled with for a long time.

I have tried to get on a plan for a long time and i would get off to a ruff start and things would fizzle out. This time is different though, I don't think I've ever tackled the gym like I am right now. It probably has something to do with me being unemployed after working a road warrior type job for the past 6 years. Living on the road must be the worst scenerio possible for somebody who wants to eat right.

Any help from you guys would be totally appreciated. Interestingly enough, the more I work out the less I feel the need for anavar. I thought I needed it at first because I felt like I was in such poor shape that a recovery would be to hard to realize without some sort of magic pill. Now I think I can do it without it or at least hold off for quite a while until the time is just right.

I'm down to 253 from about 260 something in about 10 days of busting my ass.

I'm going to start the HCGenerate, that sounds like a great idea. I also have never heard the term macro used in diet and am amazed at how much I don't know. Basically if I get my macro's dialed in I'm going to streamline this process. Thanks for the tip brother.

I'll be using the above tool to track my bf %

Right now I'm at 23%

My goal is 10%

currently:
253 lbs total
58 lbs bf
195 lbs lbm

need to get to:
220 lbs total
20 lbs bf
200 lbs lbm


This goal seems very doable. It almost seems that if I added Anavar I would be a effing freak in no time. I might even be called a juicer once or twice. A guy can dream.

I think I'll hopefully reach this goal before I decide if or when to dabble. I hope you all don't mind me using this thread to keep track of my progress even though it may or may not be related to steroid use.
 
okay, crunched my macros and it appears that I am a bit off of an ideal diet for cutting/keeping muscle....or am I?


2400 cal a day....probably way too low I know.

60% protein 30% carbs 10% fat

From what I've been reading, I want something closer to a 40/40/20 ratio. And as Sweed suggested, I need to be around 3000 to 3500 calories a day. I'll be tweaking this.

Ha, I get to eat more carbs and fat...dynomite!

hey good luck! sound like you got the hard part over getting to the gym and some diet work........wait for the good stuff..... Keep up what your doing and eat clean clean clean and stick with your cardio....
