Platinum Members,

Thanks for helping make the new Platinum banning feature a huge success - and for using this feature only when appropriate. If you don't know about your new feature, please click here to read about how you can help moderate EliteFitness.com.

The consensus among the Platinum Members is that four of you should be required to make the posts of a regular member go dark - I agree, so we'll keep it at four. Now, I would appreciate your letting me know how long the posts of the "bombed" member should remain dark.

When a member's posts go dark, they are replaced with the following image:

I think it should start at a week, but if they keep getting banned then increase the time to 2 weeks and so on.

Good suggestion - 24 hours seems a little short.

George one thing I have noticed is that there is a way for someone to continue posting even though they have been temporarly banned. It seems simple as changing the color of the font in their post. "Allon" was banned a little while ago and he continued to post in bright yellow with the "Owned" background.

If it is a real reason to be bombed...24 hours to 48 hours.....gives them some time to grow up
I also think RAFFAZ has a point that if they continue to be a problem then the penalty should be extended.

AT least 48 hours! If they get banned in the first place then they are obviously not posting anything benificial to the boards, in which case they are not wanted here. If it happens more then once then the banning should be moved to a week and 3 times, banned for good.

1st time: 24 hours
2nd: 48
3rd: 72
4th: 1 week
5th and every time thereafter: 2 weeks each

There needs to be a built-in check so 4 plat friends couldnt bomb someone repeatedly (like the karma spreading system)

I say a 3 strike rule should be enforced. First time 48hours..a lil warning... second time 2wks.... Third time..indefinate or perm. If you cant figure out what to or not to say then Ill bet majority of your posts are just waists of time anyway

Why we still talk about banning? It's not a ban if there's just the "owned" image over the person's posts.

The dark "owned by the..." image won't do much good if the person uses white text color. You can still see what he is saying. Also if the guy has made over hundred posts in one day there will be quite a lot "owned" images here and there. That would start to annoy people more than the person's actual posts.

werd I like this as welll, but what is the final decision on this? Forgive me if I ahve missed the verdict already.

I think the first time they are banned, it should be for 24 hours. Then each subsequent banning the time should be extended. Like after the third time they are banned it should then be a week. Hopefully this will be fair.

I still say go by my earlier post. Face it, there are some clueless 'tahds' out on the internet that can barely use a computer. This is a popular site, you're gonna end up with a few. It should be an escalating scale. The people who truly deserve to be banned (spammers, etc.) will still be banned. If it cant be an escalating scale and the system requires a certain amount, I think 2 days is a good time span. If its a banning and not just "owned", you should create a pop up page for that user when they log in or just send them a PM and tell them what they need to do to straighten up. That way the admins can spend less time on that shit and more time eating RAM chips with nacho cheese.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll go with 2 days - 48 hours for now. We'll revisit this in the future if we need to.

We need to strip the Platinum retards of their ability to bomb people for no reason.

^^Won't happen.

@ SpeLLMaster....2 days is too short; 2 weeks is a real punishment.
