Friend wants to sell me this computer for $600. Is this a fair price?

1 gig of ram

I think it is, try offering him 500 cash right away and see what he says....but for those specs that price aint bad....a bunch of people might come on here and say you can get a dell for 499 or whatever but it wont be with those specs. how bout the monitor?.does it come with one?

No monitor, also the computer is used. He's selling it cuz he doesn't play games anymore, and he wants a lap top. But I know the kid well, and I could hurt him if it crapped out on me lol.

I don't know much about this stuff and will ask here when I get mine, but I've been looking for the past 2 days at some deals. That is a good deal but a monitor is pricey. Add that and you're up to what you can get ALMOST for new. That is a good spec PC but no monitor and $600 used? hmmm I guess I'd agree with $500, I mean you can't really get it much less.

I say go for it, especially if you need one. You know he has'nt messed with it if he's your buddy.
