what's the difference between Muay Thai and kickboxing

they seem similar, what are the differences?

Muay Thai:

-Been around longer than can be documented.
-Kicking below the waist is allowed.
-Kicking inside of the leg is allowed.
-Elbow strikes to the body and head are allowed (in Thailand).
-Knees to the face and body are allowed.
-Holdin an opponet's leg and puching him after he tries to kick you is allowed.
-During a clinch, fighters are allowed to continue fighinting using knees.
-Most fighter perform a "Wai Kru" before fighting, it is a short ritual to pay respect to your teacher (Kru), camp, nation, family and to keep evil spirits out of the ring... Each fighter may perform his/her own version of the "Wai Kru" each camp has a different one. Fighters also can choose the moves of their ritual to honor one or a few of the above mentioned.
-Traditional Thai music is played during the fight, there is a different song for every round.

Kickboxing:
-Been around since the 50-70's I think. Invented by some Japanese guy that went to Thailand and liked the sport.
-Kicking below the waist is NOT allowed.
-Kicking inside of the leg is NOT allowed.
-Elbow strikes to the body and head are NOT allowed.
-Knees to the face and body are NOT allowed.
-Holdin an opponet's leg and puching him after he tries to kick you is NOT allowed.
-During a clinch, fighters are NOT allowed to continue fighinting. They must wait for the ref to separate them before continuing action.
-No rituals.
-No music.

Im a grappler, but one thing I have notcied after going to alot of the local kickboxing events. Most of the kickboxers, try really hard not be paired with a Muay Thai guy.
