What's plankton got in da back of his trailer? *sneak peak*

I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of all the time, effort, and money that goes into modifying a vehicle to do something as totally useless as touching the ground. I can't see it as a desirable goal at all.

I totally agree.

I have a weird aversion to anything I perceive as wasteful.

Yeah, but you also think chopping up old classics into hot rods is a sin as well.

Hot rodders do adjustable suspension and lay their vehicles out on the ground (tho, the vast majority don't do it to the same extent minitruckers do).

It's all about the stance bro...And pretty much the entire show scene, no matter the style of vehicle, is all about over the top off the wall modifications.

Yeah right...You'll spend 90 large on an escalade when a $40k suburban will serve the exact same purpose.

That's a great example.

1) The resale will be higher (albeit not correspondingly)

2) The upgrades that come with the Escalade will serve a purpose (i.e. nicer sound, nicer leather, etc. etc.) is a big deal for a taxicab mom

3) If the upgrades were for spinning rims, LED's in the grill/running boards or something weird like a boom box in the rear, I'd feel very wasteful.

1.)Resale will be higher, but depreciation will be greater.

2.)Minor upgrades...I thought you were against wasteful spending?

3.)The upgrades are slightly better leather trim, cooled cupholders, power folding running boards, LED lighting, premium sound, and 22" wheels. LOL!

Better leather = good

Cooled cupholders = waste

Power folding running boards = good for twins + three year old + wife known for curbing her vehicle

LED lighting = yuck

you quoted me before I added premium sound and 22" chrome wheels.

Like I said..they may be beneficial, but it's clearly a waste if you price out the additonal options seperately.

You're getting an addiontal $1500 worth of options and 50,000 worth of status.

Show me how to spec out the same as an escalade (without cooled cup holders and LEDs) using a surburban base for $1,500 more and I'll order it.
