Karson: My best friend's dad immigrated from the middle east many years ago. Worked his ass off and lived with 4 friends in a shitty apartment. Saved all his money and bought the place that he was working at. However, he didn't change his lifestyle, just dove an old beatup car and still lived in that apartment..... saving money. About 15 years later, he owned almost every business on that street. ....... Invest some of you money!

yep... i've got a bit more school to go... i have to move away for a year and we won't be living together. until stuff like that gets sorted out, no marriage. marriage itself is just a piece of paper for me mostly. i pretty well am already married if you ask me.

frankly ... go for the real estate ... I have both a condo and a nice house ... those 'appreciate' in value ... a car 'depreciates' in value .... I even traded functionality for looks ... choice was BMW vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee ... I choose the Jeep because it doubles as a truck I could put stuff at the back.

First thing.......how are you going to impress the chick with your condo when you are at (fill in the blank)________ bar, store, mall, etc.... Same thing with the car........fi she sees your car then you already did one thing right......if she sees your condo you did two things right.........you better get the third one right or she won't care much about the 1st two anyway.

I'm not a real estate expert but aren't condos a bad investment if you are using it as an investment? And what the hell kind of condo you buying for that kind of jack?

rudedawg, you make good points. Condos can be a million dollars if you want one that nice. they dont go up like a house but they dont go down like a car. a good investment, you can rent them out, live in them, what ever

Im buying new of both. If I buy the condo for 195,000 , I can only afford a car for 23,000 , if I buy the condo for 135,000 , i can get the M5 BMW. What to do?

First of all cars are not good investments at all. Right now Real Estate was smoking, everyone where I live has made anywhere from 40,000 to 200,000 $'s on the real estate they own in the past 4 years. Condos are not necessarly bad investments I have a friend that bought one about 7 years ago for $53,000 can sell it today for 92,000 . Just do your research as well as keep an eye on the market, news says the real estate has been making a slight downturn. So you might want to wait a bit to make sure you don't buy at the top of the market.
