They were alone at the time, just them two, and he wouldnt even say anything specific. He just said to him, "There's so much we aren't told......and its probably for the best. He was also saying something about the technology we use today is about 25-30 years behind what can actually be done.

This is most likely done as to allow us to continually remain slightly ahead of foreign technology by utilizing it a little at a time without risking all our advanced tech falling into the wrong hands at once if we were to actively use it in the battlefield.

We always keep somethings "behind the green door". Some of it is incredibly interesting and leading edge, some of it mundane.
