What Really Happens To You if You Get Busted With Gear?

I believe that is the same as getting caught with cocaine or any other drug in that class. It really is idiotic considering that alcohol is legal and probably in the long run effects your liver worse then AS and damges a hell of alot more people's lifes.

I knew someone that got busted when they signed for a package they got off on probation with some fines and court cost and are now back at it again.

Cocaine & Steroids are NOT in the same class of Scheduled drugs. Cocaine-Schedule 2, Roids-Schedule 3.

Depending on the amount of gear you have you could spend some jail time. But mostly for a first offense it's just probation and fines and shit. If you have tons of gear on you and it's your first offense you can probably plea bargin down to 6 months in minimum security.

You just contradicted yourself about the coke dude. Schedule 1 drugs are drugs that are considered by the Government to have NO medical use i.e Heroin(even though it does have uses, but that the Gov for ya), LSD, XTC, WEED...thus it can NOT be a schedule 1 AND have limited medical use. It is a SCHEDULE 2....for the second time.

Coke is actually a Schedule II but isnt really treated as such-especially when its in the form of Crack.

In Cali, theres a new law that says first time drug offenders get treatment, not punishment. I dont know if this will go on your record, if so, it would be detrimental to my quest for a microbio, biochem, medical degree..........

The punishment depends upon who busts you (state or federal), the amount of steriods you get caught with (b/c you can face possession with intent to sell charges), and your prior criminal record..
Simple possession in New York is a misdemeanor. The same is true for federal court. Your sentence will probably be probation for a first time offender. Thereafter, you'll probably receive an incarcerative sentence.
Possession with intent to sell/distribute is a felony for both New York State and federal courts. In federal court, the maximum period of incarceration is 5 years. In New York state court, 7 years max. Since I don't do federal work, I don't know whether the federal sentencing guidelines will allow a downward departure to enable you to get probation. But as a first-time offender in New York State, you'll still probably get probation or a jail/probation split. If you are a second-felony offender, mandatory state jail in New York.
