What music do you guys listen to while lifting?

I will probably get flamed for this. "This should go in *such and such board*!" O well... Just thought it would be interesting to see what kind of music you guys listen to while lifting, to get pumped. I am gonna start a collection of weight lifting cd's (i listen to everything from country to metal) I like to listen to Fear Factory, Iced Earth, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, AC DC (yes yes i know, old skool), Tool (im a huge tool fan), Meshuggah, Opeth... to name a few. If you guys get a spare moment, just drop a line.

music

Meshhugah! Nice! Haven't heard them in a couple of years. My current gym favorites are, in no particular order

1. slipknot
2l. system
3. deicide
4. cryptopsy
5. old korn (anything after "Life is Peachy" sucks)

Never got into Tool. Just not for me. I'll check Opeth out.

whatever is playing in the gym. i have yet to get one of those mp3 players. but soon i will get one.

If you go to my gym..

this is what happens..

"toxicity of our CITY!!.."...*noises of the Rec Staff changing the station*..."girl I think that i'm in love with you!..."..

They always change the cool shit the rare times it plays to some whiny pussy shit in the middle of my deadlift set.

Old Hatebreed (new stuff is good too), Madball, All Out War, Old Blood For Blood.............as far as more mainstreem stuff is concerned, Tool, first Korn albulm, and Faith No More.
It all gets me going like a nice home-made ECA stack!

i am going to argue that Tool is NOT mainstream you bitch lol just playin, I just hate it when I goto school and people are like tool fans all of a sudden, it pisses me off lol it probably shouldnt cuz i LOVE Tool, seen them in concert like 5 times, lol waaaay back in the day my brother took me to my first tool concert, it "popped my heavy metal cherry" :D

Where are the vets now to chime, "Use the search function."? This question gets asked almost as often as, "What Do You Think Of *P Winny"; the answers are always the same: a list of heavy metal bands. The boys who lift the heavy iron often listen to heavy metal.

Preworkout I listen to trance, funky house, or hard tech house.

During the workout the sound of a plateloaded bar tremoring in syncopation with my muscles does it for me.

:lmao: Holy shit bro! The EXACT fuckin thing happens to me. And I mean EXACT. I was doing deadlifts one time and Toxicity was playing and they changed it right in the middle to fuckin Enrique Iglesias :redhot: Although, I think I got so pissed that they changed it to that PIECE OF SHIT song that it was the reason I got up 475. 2 funny. :lmao:

:bigbuck: boybands on left ---- me on right

haha...

They love turning on that song by whats her face.. Amanda carlton maybe?.. the piano one.. 1,000 miles I think..It totally kills my concentration.

i lift at night, and the gym is always tuned into "Love Line" with Dr. Drew and Adam Carrolla. i will be trying to focus on during a set of squats and then all the sudden will hear a chick say something like "is it normal that i set my cell phone on vibrate and stick it up my pussy so my boyfriend can call and get me off in class?" and then Dr. Drew will say that she was molested by her father who must have worked for AT&T. Then adam will hang up on her because she refuses to admit she is a lesbian crack whore. it is so distracting that i am happy when they finally put it back on top 40 crap.

Death Metal is without a doubt the best shit to listen to!

Anyone who has not experienced this rush is missing out.I highly recomend the following...

1)Cannibal Corpse
2)Deicide
3)Immolation
4)Slipknot
5)Morbid Angel
6) (old) Napalm Death

Also, this music is great while your having those violent daydreams about beating the shit out of whom ever is currently gracing the pages of your shit list.

All they play is House and techo music at my gym. I guess that's all i hear when more of the people they roll on "E" on the weekends at clubs.

Huh, nobody has said old Metallica or Biohazard, that has always been the best workout music in my opinion. Also Slayer. Oh yeah, and "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. haha :supercool

LOL!How could we leave out that classic.

Good call on the old Metallica and the Slayer!

I get amp'd up on:

Machine Head
Disturbed
Metallica
Pantera
POD

just about anything Heavy. I cant stomach the techno shit while working out. I hear enuff @ the club! :finger:  :finger:

none of you fuckers like MUDVAYNE???? or the godfathers.....MOTORHEAD???. my gym's radio is always on the n.e.r.v.e. so its pretty cool. new 80s rock/new metal!!

Mudvayne is good, cept, when I lift, i want something that is gonna pump me up and something I can get into, so it has to have some kind of beat, not just a buncha screaming... but sometimes that no nonsense screaming pushes me through a tough squat workout!

AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Metallica, Crue, Nirvana (except "Polly"), any of the 80's or 90's metal stuff.

Gotta be hard and loud! --I was really into "Down with the Sickness" when that came out.

Thankfully, the dudes that own World gym in San Diego don't play anything that is soft or wimpy.

rap and hip hop all the way

DMX gets me fucking pumped !

HE rules

Victor

I agree with most of these. Heavy Metal is definately the best workout music. AC/DC is the shit. You guys left out the Crue, they have some kickass songs for hitting the iron. I like a lot of the 80's hairbands(I dont recommend working out to a power ballad though) Too bad the days when rock was king is over, now its damn rap. You cant force out 2 extra reps by listening to eminem! But "Kickstart your Heart", HELL YEAH!-WULF

why am i always out of the norm? lol........any hard deep cuts or remixes by danny tenaglia, steve lawler, behrouz, victor calderone, john digweed, roger sanchez etc....... i'm a product of my environment i guess.

I listen to the sound of weights being tossed around. Thats enough to get me going.
I was thinking of geting an MP3 player but headphones throw off my concentration for some reason

Prodigy kicks ass.
I also get into some instrumentals, like some of the tracks off the Fight Club sound track. I go to 24 hour fitness, and they play about the stupidest shit there is (backdoor boys, n'sync and all the other boy and girl bands) so you really gotta' bring your own music to function.

Athlete03, how much does it cost to belong to 24 hour fitness??? They are building one right by my house and I am thinking about joining but I cant find any info on it!

transe. on a side note. ever since I've been listening to my own music and I can't hear what people are saying, I seem to be farting more freely now. stupid but I think they can't hear me either. :)

- Old Metallica
- AC/DC
- Cash Money Records stuff (Big Tymers, Juvenile, B.G., Lil Wayne, Turk, Hot Boys, etc.)
- Other 80's rock
- Techno/Trance

Jungle or Drum and Bass take up 75% of my 64mb
Deftones, Tool and A Perfect Circle for the rest.

I change it daily, I have 80 gigs of music to choose from. Gotta love audiogalaxy.
