what is your favorite Rock band of all time?

Le Sigh. Rubber Soul (December 1965) wasn't a concept album. The first concept album was Freak Out! by Zappa in '66, because it has a unifying theme that holds the album together (you know, a concept album). Pet Sounds (May 1966) wasn't a concept album either, so I don't see where you're going with this. Plus, Rubber Soul came out at least five months before Pet Sounds, so you just sound ridiculous anyway.

It's known that The Beach Boys and The Beatles were friends and competitive. They influenced each other.

But, The Beatles were still the frist pop group to use feedback as an artistic element in a recording. So there. There's an example of them doing something that wasn't previously done in the pop world.

See, the problem is that you've blinded yourself with your own bullshit. I don't care if you like the band, but saying they weren't influential is just stupid. It's like saying that Bird didn't change the face of jazz.
see, the problem here is that you are stating YOUR opinions and YOUR viewpoints as factual history. bush & co would be proud of you.

if i sound "ridiculous" and "stupid" (quoting you) then you sound pompus and smug.

you are misinformed.

brain wilson and the beach boys (also a capitol records group) was writing their songs, singing them and playing the instruments BEFORE your boys did.

Nope, Beach Boys used studio musicians on their early releases. Hal Blaine on drums, for example, and Carol Kaye on bass. I don't think Dennis Wilson struck a beat on record before "Pet Sounds".

Buddy Holly & The Crickets were the precedent-setting "self contained" act. But it's a privelege that the major record companies didn't allow their artists until the success of The Beatles. Then it became the norm.

Brian Wilson's concept for The Beach Boys' vocal harmonies was admittedly lifted straight from The Four Freshmen. Everyone has influences, very few things are wholely unprecedented.

the beatles "rubber soul" concept album was done AFTER "pet sounds" by the beach boys.

Since "Rubber Soul" pre-dates "Pet Sounds" by almost a year, I can only assume you're referring to "Sgt. Pepper"? "Pet Sounds" was an influence on that in the sense that they saw that the bar had been raised.

the beatles "let it be" was done in response to the beach boys "god only knows".

Huh? First of all, "God Only Knows" is a song on the previously-mentioned "Pet Sounds" album. It's a love song. To a girl. "Let It Be" came at least two years after that, isn't anything like "Got Only Knows" except that there's a piano, and isn't a love song. No connection.

the beatles did not do anything that had been done by those before them.

what they DID have was a kick-ass PR staff.

A PR staff that had plenty of material to work with.

Perhaps you are not familiar enough with their body of work to be making these claims?

their "body of work" is dated material and does not hold up well given the test of time. their early stuff is simplistic and derative of their betters. their later stuff, quoting joan rivers screams "druggie druggie druggie".

great PR work, though.

Hellllooooooooooooo hypocrisy.

You're not even trying anymore. Your arguments are baseless. Can you even cite sources for anything you've said thus far? No.

And how do I sound pompus [sic] and smug?

Like I said, I don't care if you don't like them. But, trying to turn YOUR opinions into fact only hurts YOUR argument.

What subjective thing have I said besides that you're stupid?

This is silly. Have you taken any classes on logic before?
